Saint Giles has always believed that if we
invest in our staff, then we invest in our
business. Jay Iyavoo and Jason Van-Es of
CCI-GrowthCon, a company that does sustain-
able performance improvement were called
on to impart their knowledge at a training
session with our Work CentreTeam Leaders
& Supervisors.

Anne Slade, daughter of
Sport Slade, the founder of
the Saint Giles “Sport Slade
Remedial Gymnasium”,
pleasantly surprised us
with a visit in December.
She was gobsmacked at
how much the gym has
flourished over the past few
years but was also mindful
of the great work done by
our team. Anne thanked everyone for their dedica"on & unwavering
commitment to making a difference in the lives of the disabled.
If you would like to make a difference or know any company or body
that would like to take the gym on as their personal project for 2018,
contact Terry Rennie or Brenda Craig on 031 337 4404 for more
Informa"on on this amazing opportunity.
Saint Giles extends their heartfelt thanks to
Unilever—Lalitha Hoover, representing the Procure-
ment department handed over 3 brand new wheel-
chairs to Brenda Craig from our Marketing depart-
ment. These wheelchairs were part of a team build
event that they had. The wheelchairs will truly come
in handy for those less fortunate, disabled individuals
in our community. Kindly note that Saint Giles also
hires out wheelchairs to the public at very affordable
rates.
More information can be
obtained from Lorraine or
Tim on 031 337 4404.

In lieu of International Disabilities Awareness Day being on
Sunday, 3rd December, Saint Giles celebrated it in the Gym on
Monday, 4th December with special guests, mother & son
Caroline Mardon and Stephen. Caroline read her short story that
was published in the book “Voices of Disability”. Patients were
also treated to a talk by amputee, Mfundo Shozi.
An inspirational morning was had by all present.
