ABOUT UNIVERSITY

ABOUT DEPARTMENT

Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya is a premier

University exclusively for women in the rural belt of

Haryana. It has a sprawling campus of about 500 acres

replete with modern facilities for teaching. The University

has been set up with a vision to make profound difference

in the lives of women by empowering them to attain their

full potential through pursuit of knowledge, acquisition of

skills and professional competence, development of

character, self esteem and recognition of their rights and

responsibilities. The University came into existence as

state university established through an Act of Haryana

Legislature in 2006 vide legislative Notification (No. th31/2006) on 10 November 2006 by the Government of

Haryana. This is the first University not only in the state

but also in the entire north India dedicated exclusively to

women education and upliftment of rural women. At

present, the University is running Department of

Electronics and Communication Engineering,

Information Technology, Department of Fashion

Technology, Department of Management Studies,

Department of English, Department of Law, Department

of Economics, BPS Institute of Teachers Training and

Research, BPS Institute of Higher learning and MSM

Institute of Ayurveda.

The Department of Electronics and Communication

Engineering is rapidly growing department under the

Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Since its

inception, numerous professional activities are organized

by the Department. Educational and Industrial visits, Quiz

contest, Workshops, Training form an integral part of

curriculum. Experts from leading industries and

educational institutes are invited frequently for guest

lectures on recent developments for the benefit of

students and staffs. The Department provides excellent

facilities like DSP lab equipped with twenty users

MATLAB/Simulink with different toolbox, Multisim and

Open Source Software, Circuit Simulation Lab, Device

and Circuit lab, Digital Circuit and System, Advance

Communication lab, well equipped library, class rooms

and laboratories equipped with LCD projectors, internet

connectivity and student activity centre equipped with

audio and visual aids etc. The Department provides

platform for developing socio cultural traits of students

through its 'ELECOM' society. The Department offers

B.Tech., MBA (Tech), M.Tech and Ph.D Programme in

Electronics and Communication Engineering.
