Asstatedinitscharter,theInternationalPolkaAssociationwasorganizedas:"Aneducationalandcharitableorganizationforthepreservation,promulgationandadvancementofpolkamusicand;topromote,maintainandadvancepublicinterestinpolkaentertainment;toadvancethemutualinterestsandencouragegreatercooperationamongitsmemberswhoareengagedinpolkaentertainment;andtoencourageandpursuethestudyofpolkamusic,dancingandtraditionalfolklore."
TheInternationalPolkaAssociationisalsoresponsibleforthecontinuedoperationandgrowthofthePolkaMusicHallofFameandMuseum.ItisthroughthisbranchthattheAssociationhasbeenabletocontinueitshistorical,educationalandresearchgoalsonbehalfofthepolkamusicindustry.
Adpurchasescanbetax-deductibleforbusinessesorcorporations,andfundsraisedwillbeusedtohelpcoverconventioncostsaswellassupportthecontinuedoperationandgrowthoftheorganization.
