APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
ELIGIBILTY: Full-time student Minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA Minimum of 18 hrs. (cumulative) Need Based or lack of financial resources
DIRECTIONS: Materials to be submitted for the scholarship must be typed. Nofaxed applications will be accepted. All documents must be
submitted together as a single package. Transcripts and letters
of recommendations must be sealed.
Scholarship acceptance requires students to enroll in a minimum of six semester hours of coursework at PVAMU.
In some circumstances education abroad may require enrollmentin a specific course (to be determined at a later time).
A. APPLICATION FORM Applicants for the scholarship are selected competitivelyfrom among persons who are in their sophomore, junior or senior year of college. The applicant has a choice of either mailing his/her completed application or hand delivering the application packet to the following addresses.

B. Personal Essay Applicants are required to compose a personal essay of no more than three typed, double-spaced pages. The essay should describe 1) Interest in and/or commitment to an international
service career;2) The ways that your participation in the PVAMU
education abroad program will help you achieveyour goals; and
3) What you hope to gain from your participation inthis year’s education abroad program.
C. Budget Please detail the cost for the desired program. (Detailed budget may be attached as addendum on separate sheet.)

D. Resume Submit a resume that details (a) your educational background(b) your work experience(c) your achievements/awards, and(d) your organizational affiliation
E. Letters of Recommendation Submit (a) two (2) letters of recommendation from
faculty members, dean or advisor at yourcollege, and
(b) one (1) letter of personal recommendationfrom someone who can speak of yourcharacter.
F. Official College Transcripts Provide official sealed transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended.
G. Post-TRAVEL REPORT Students are expected to submit a post-travel report as specified by the scholarship requirements.
