Locate and download Keyboard from AppStore
In the Apple AppStore on the iPad, search for the specific keyboard you are looking for or simply searchfor the keyword "keyboard". Download the keyboard from the AppStore.
A good suggestion is the SwiftKey Keyboard, shown below.

Enable the Keyboard in Settings
Go to Settings and scroll in the General settings until you see Keyboard. Tap Keyboard to open thekeyboard settings.

Tap Add New Keyboard...
Select the keyboard you downloaded in the list of third-party keyboards.

The downloaded third-party keyboard will be listed in the installed Keyboards section. Tap the keyboardyou just installed.

Tap the switch to give that keyboard full access. Tap Allow to give this keyboard full access. If you do notallow full access then the keyboard will not work. The message is just alerting you to the fact that thingsyou type could potentially be transmitted, though this is generally not of great concern.

Select the Keyboard
To use the newly installed keyboard tap the globe icon on the on-screen keyboard to switch betweeninstalled keyboards.
