TheOceanObservatoriesInitiative(OOI)isaNationalScienceFoundation(NSF)fundedlargeinfrastructureproject.Theprojectconsistsof830instrumentsdistributedon89platforms,spreadthroughsevenarrayslocatedintheNorthandSouthAtlanticandPacificOcean.
TheOOICabledArrayislocatedoffthecoastofWashingtonandOregon.Itconsistsoftwolinesoffiber-opticcable,onethatrunsacrosstheJuandeFucatectonicplatetotheAxialSeamount,andasecondthatcurvessouthandtrackstheContinentalMarginoffthecoastofOR,goinguptheslopeontothecontinentalshelf.TheinfrastructureoftheCabledArrayincludes~900kmofelectro-opticalcablethatprovidespowerandhigh-bandwidthconnectivityto>100instrumentsand6fullwater-columnprofilingmoorings.NotethattwooftheseprofilingmooringsarelocatedspatiallywithintheCoastalEnduranceArray.CONTACTINFORMATION
