Ideas and their “inception”
“ What is the most resilient parasite?
Bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm?
An idea. Resilient... highly contagious.
Once an idea has taken hold of the brain, it's almost impossible to eradicate.
An idea that is fully formed - fully understood - that sticks.”

Ideation through customized portal: an example
• Bayer AG – Received 9000 ideas in 4 years
– Even one full day spent evaluating each of 9,000 ideas would add up to almost 25 years!!!
• Solution – Developed an Intranet portal called Triple-i: Inspiration, Ideas,
Innovation
– Bayer’s worldwide 108,000 employees sent ideas to a team of innovation experts in headquarters
– Each idea has to PASS 5 basic questions before moving towards serious development
• Is the idea feasible? Is it really a new idea? Is there a need in the market? What is the benefit for the consumer? Does the idea fit with the company’s focus, mission and portfolio?
