Presidents Report
There was a suggestion that there should be a Direc-
tor of Fun for Rotary, well I think we already have sev-
eral. Last Wednesday Richard and Rewa, along with
Ken and Shirley gave us another superb night of Fun
and Fellowship.
The fun included the building of towers with newspa-
pers, the paper plane competition, and, for the more
cerebral, first lines of books and sayings from films.
Very wide ranging tastes and knowledge required.
We all enjoyed ourselves immensely.
The year rolls on inexorably, the handover Board
meeting is on the 14th of June, we are organizing the
tables for changeover, the Annual report copy is due.
I feel as though I might know what to do by the time
the year is over.
We even have definite dates for the mock job inter-
views which we are going to do for Sandringham; the
interviews are on Monday the first and Tuesday the
second of August 2016.
Heather has had great success with her Community
garden proposal, lots of interest at the meeting held
on Saturday the 21st of May, there’s obviously a huge
appetite for this sort of community building activity.
Heather’s also been doing Grant Applications to help
fund the project, we have as a Club committed some
money but it’s always good to get grants. Heather will
no doubt fill us all in on Thursday. The next two
Thursdays we are in for a treat, Mary Cunnington
speaks this coming Thursday, doing her new member

Martin speaks about his year away.
I am looking forward to both, hearing our own
members is always a privilege.
With best wishes to you all,

Mindless Mayhem Night
Despite the first truly wintery night of the year a stalwart
band of Members and Partners turned up at the Beau-
maris Community Centre to have their talents and ingenu-
ity tested.
Richard, Rewa, Ken and Shirley are to be congratulated
for creating a night of fun and challenges.

A Striking View

Streaking from a sky as red as the earth,
lightning strikes the famous dome-shaped,
sandstone monolith Uluru, in Uluru-Kata
Tjuta National Park, Australia. “I had
heard a lot about how beautiful Uluru
should look when it rains. But I never
believed that I would see it with my own
eyes because the Red Centre of Australia
is a very arid area.”
