Because of an early holiday publishing
deadline, the offertory information for
the weekend of November 11 & 12 will
be printed in the next bulletin.
This weekend’s second collection is for
the Campaign for Human Development.
Next weekend’s collection is for the
IHM Debt Reduction Fund.
If you still have a pledge balance to the 2017 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, please
complete your payments as soon as possible.
We have surpassed our parish goal for this year’s Annual Appeal! That means that
pledges fulfilled through the end of the year will be returned to IHM without any
archdiocesan assessment! So every $1.00 given to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal
now is worth about $1.30 placed in the parish offertory! This is a generous provision
that we should be taking maximum advantage of!
If you have not made a pledge yet and you wish to be part of the 2017 Archbishop’s
Annual Appeal to support the works of the Catholic Church in the north half of Geor-
gia, please visit ihmatlanta.org or appeal.archatl.com, or contact Nancy Stoehr 404-
920-7600 or [email protected].
Thank you for your good stewardship of IHM and the Catholic Church!
We are hoping to have as many teens as we can experience Catholic Heart Work
Camp (high school mission trip) and Edge Summer Camp (middle school Catholic
camp) next summer. Your donation will help our youth groups to be able to encoun-
ter Christ in a new and meaningful way through these experiences.
Now through November 26, visit www.iGiveCatholic.org to make an advanced
#iGiveCatholic gift in support your IHM parish family or “Give Catholic” on Giving
Tuesday, November 28. Just search for “Immaculate Heart of Mary” in the search
box and Give Catholic!
THANKSGIVING DAY MASS
Thursday, November 23
On Thanksgiving Day our bilingual Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome
to place a basket with a portion of their Thanksgiving meal on the steps of the
altar before Mass; the food will be blessed during the Mass.
Begin your celebration of this great national holiday with the Church’s great act
of thanksgiving, the Eucharist!
THANK YOU FROM THE IHM AIDS MINISTRY The IHM AIDS Ministry gives a big heartfelt thank you to our fellow parishion-
ers for your generous donations to the 2017 AIDS Walk Atlanta on behalf of our
clergy and Team Immaculate Heart of Mary! Because of your generosity, we
exceeded our goal and raised $10,731 to support Living Room, Inc’s housing
programs.
Your kind and generous donations help ensure that homeless HIV+ individuals
and families can live in a safe, secure environment until a more permanent hous-
ing solution can be secured.
Housing is fundamental to treatment for HIV, providing health and hope for
those who need it most.
Thank you again!

The Role of the Church in Healing the Racial Divide December 10, 10:15-11:15
IHM School Library
The Myth of Race, or the idea that there are separate inferior and superior human
races, is in direct opposition of the teachings of Christ and the doctrine of the Catho-
lic Church. Yet acts of racism persist within the Church because we have been so
indoctrinated in the Myth of Race that we cannot see how this mindset undercuts the
very Gospel that we are called to proclaim to the world. But there is hope! Steven
Jones (M.Div., J.D.), the founder of ARROW—the Alliance to Reunite and Repair
Our World—will join us to share his vision for how the Church can become a beacon
of hope and a leader in healing the racial divide in America. All are welcome.
