PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The summer school is an intensive full-time programme, and consist of at least 40 contact hours. There will be lectures, presentations
and discourses on all 3 themes during the programme. Extensive Study Material will be provided to all the participants on all 3 themes
at the commencement of the programme.
The participants will be divided into 3 Research Groups. They will be allotted Research Topics according to the themes of the
programme and their preferences. Mentors will guide them during the school and help them in conducting the Research on the topics
allotted. The Participants will be required to submit a Research Report at the end of the Programme.

DURATION
The summer school will be for 5 days i.e. 25th May, 2019 to 29th May, 2019.
ELIGIBILITY
The summer school is open to all Indian Students pursuing Undergraduate or Postgraduate courses in the UGC recognized University
or College and also to professionals working in policy and development sector.
VENUE
The summer school will be held at IIM Ranchi, Soochna Bhawan, Meur’s Road, Ranchi - 834008
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation will be provided to all the participants at the Hostel of the Institute.
WORKING HOURS
1000 Hours to 1700 Hours (IST)
SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection will be done on basis of Applicant’s CV and Telephonic Interview.

The faculty of the course will include the Director and faculty members of IIM Ranchi, bureaucrats, senior government officials, experts

IRATION
The State of Jharkhand as it is today has been given this distinct political identity by Late Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee during his tenure as Prime Minister. To pay a tribute to one of the greatest leader in the history of India, IIM Ranchi is establishing a Centre for Leadership, Policy and Governance. He was one of the very few prime ministers who had right set of leadership qualities to run an effective government with robust policy framework. His birth anniversary is celebrated as Good Governance Day.
VISION
The centre aims to be a globally renowned think tank nurturing policy professionals and leaders through research on leadership strategies, policy skills and governance mechanisms.
CONCEP
TThere has been a lot of specialization courses and programs booming in the field of Public Policy and Governance and a separate work force of Policy Professionals is being developed, but at IIM Ranchi through ABVCLPG, we aim to establish a world class Research Centre where we aim to mushroom these policy professionals into policy leaders. We aim to conduct research and programs to train our stakeholders in leadership skills, policy expertise and intricacies of governance and institutions. There have been centers and institutes working in the area of public policy and whereas some are working in the area of leadership development. But, at this center we wish to equip the policy professionals with leadership skills, and leaders with sound knowledge of policy formulation, design, implementation and analysis. With the help of the Institute’s wider networks, the center will be collaborating with various government, non-government and corporate entities to do a meaningful research and affect not only political governance but corporate governance too.

• To conduct multidisciplinary research in the domains of leadership, policy and governance. • To establish itself as Think-Tank and provide professional consultation, advise and support to government, public sector undertakings, local administration in implementation of their schemes and policies. • To undertake full term postgraduate and doctoral programs in leadership, policy and governance. • To promote the study of historical Indian texts in the focus areas of the Centre and creation of e-library of such resources which are not available in public domain or out of public reach. • To carry out translation work of texts from vernacular languages across India to universal languages.
