'Cold' Books Cool Reader
Wanna beat the heat? "Read Cool."
That's the advice of the Greenpoint Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library.
During the warm, hot days of summer right up through Labor Day the theme of "Read Cool" will be featured throughout the library system.
There will be books on such cool subjects as icebergs, glaciers, polar bears, penguins, ice cream and salads. Or such places ts the snow-covered Rockies, the frozen Antarctic wastes, the wind-swept deck of an ocean vessel, the cooling flow of a mountain stream.
And, of course, any good book on any subject absorbs the reader so completely that the high temperature, the soaring humidity, the uncomfortable temperature humidity index are soon forgotten
