Identity Project
By Fran Divorty
My 30sec video
My Chosen Idea
• My chosen idea is to interview pregnant women about how their identity changes throughout pregnancy. I will ask all of them the same questions, then see how different the answers are and the story of their pregnancy.
Interview Questions
• How do you feel, emotionally and physically?• How does your pregnancy change your identity as
a woman and a person? • What were you feeling in your first trimester and
the trimester you are in? • Do you have any doubts or worries about the
baby and yourself? • Do you find it frustrating that you can’t eat
certain foods? • How do you deal with feeling ill and illness?
What can you not eat though pregnancy?
• There are certain foods and drink you are not allowed to eat and drink, also there are some you should cut down on.
• There are also certain medicines you can not take and some women like to take herbal remedies for morning sickness or a cold/flu.
My Technique
• I will use a tripod to steady my camera and also get the right frame. I will use natural light from the windows and tungsten light form the light bulbs.
• I shall Interview the women’s upper half so the viewer can not see her bump and will have to guest what she is talking about.
• If the woman wants to express anything or share a particular story I will ask them at the end.
Final Product
• For my final piece I shall edit all the interviews into one video of the women answering my questions. Then any of their stories or experiences at the end.
• My goal for the viewer is the experience how I women’s identity changes through pregnancy and how it is different for each women.
