1. ICO Market Overview
As a rating platform, we pay more attention to best ranking ICOs. Our evaluation systemis based on a combination of the ICO profile rating based on our own algorithmthat uses more than 20 different criteria and the ratings provided by the independentexperts. On the other hand, it is highly important how much a project raised during itsICO and how the number and the value of the ratings could affect the number of fundsraised. In this section, we try to build a picture of this interrelationship.

1.4. Top countries on the ICO market
Countries & PlatformsThe ICO market has its leaders presented not only as projects but also as countries and the platforms the project teams build
their ICOs on. The map above shows the countries those became leaders in the following criteria: the number of ICOs, the num-
ber of ICOs per 1 million people, and the total sum of funds raised by the projects from the country.
As you can see, Ethereum has become a market standard. At the same time, today many projects base their products on Waves
platform and other runners-up.

The current ICO market is rapidly evolving in my opinion. The space has become very competitive and overly saturated with a slew of new ICO projects coming into the fold on a daily basis. On the other hand, many projects that were launched in the past year or longer are starting to wither away as more regulatory compliant and more fundamentally sound projects emerge in their place. Of course, present cryptocurrency market conditions are also playing a role as many new projects struggle to find their footing and projects that were completed in late 2017 and early 2018 succumb to selling pressure to protect the value of the funds they raised. With that said, I believe that security tokens offerings are the next phase of the space as it grows and matures. I see a seismic shift as STO protocols and exchanges continue to emerge to handle this aspect of the tokenized offering space. I believe that this is the future outlook for the cryptocurrency and tokenized offering space as the need for investor safeguards and worldwide regulatory compliance continues to grow. In addition, there are many benefits to STOТs for investors and organizations that may not be fully realized by the space yet. Time will tell but I believe the emergence of STOТs will be the future of the tokenized offering space.
The ICO market has been undergoing a shift from public sales to private sales for some time. This is of course no surprise, given the bearish secondary market conditions, but is also a sign of a maturing industry. Waning public support aside, СsmartТ private funds see a point of maximum opportunity now that market prices have retraced up to 90% from all time highs this year. What is equally interesting is the increased deployment in traditional instruments of convertible loans, buy-back agreements and equity into token sales. All these point to a heavy VC presence that has already entered and is fast setting up shop in the crypto markets.Philosophically, the key tenet of decentralisation in blockchain and consequently ICOs is nullified by institutional funds taking up large chunks. The tradeoff is the stability and predictability that they can bring to the markets.Using a brief historical and current reference of the ICO markets, it is uncannily similar to the progress of young commodity markets. This can point to a bright future of tremendous potential and opportunity, and one just needs to reference other markets to chart where we will go. Indexes anyone?

The blockchain industry is the fastest growing IT market. Meanwhile, this entails a high speed of changes in approaches and rules guiding this market. To achieve success in the ICO market, it is important to understand in detail not how this industry has been operating last year, but how it operates right now. ICO is an amazing environment, where best practices change every 3-4 months. The most important change in recent months is that now the success of the ICO project can only be ensured by the involvement of professional venture funds. Public crowdsale has taken the back seat and can only be used to add up to the community growth. But major investments are brought in to projects by venture funds operating in this market. A trend which is inherent in many other developed IT industries – the winner takes all – is also gaining momentum. If you take a look at the amount raised in 2018, those figures are greater compared to amount in 2017, but in terms of projects that have raised these investments there will be many giants like Telegram and EOS, as well as some other ICOs which are being held by professional teams with vast experience in launching major IT projects and in cooperation with venture funds, and that is the key factor in the current market. These projects raise most of the money, leaving almost nothing to a huge number of start-ups trying to enter this market. If we talk about the future, I see the regulated Private Sales based on Security Tokens as one of the most promising fields. Security Tokens may become a compromise that will allow using the advantages of the blockchain technology while properly protecting investors. If this happens, soon we will witness the “Next big thing” in the world of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
