TheHurstReviewNCLEX®ScholarshiprecognizesPhiThetaKappamembersandalumnicurrentlyenrolledintwoorfour-yearcollegenursingdegreeprograms.Thisprogramwillbeopentwiceayearandawardsupto25scholarshipsof$250topayforNCLEX®examfeesandapasscodeforfreeuseofHurstReviewNCLEX®studymaterials.Upto10scholarswillbeawardedinthefallandupto15scholarswillbeawardedinthespring.
The2017applicationopensFebruary1,2017.ApplicationsmustbesubmittedbyMarch2,2017at5:00pmCT.
Eligibility
• MemberofPhiThetaKappacurrentlyenrolledinacommunitycollegeorPhiThetaKappaalumniattendingafour-yearcollegeinanursingdegreeprogramthroughMay2017.
• MustbeeligibletotaketheNCLEX®examinthesemesterfollowingtheaward.• Part-time,full-timeandinternationalstudentsareeligibletoapply.• PhiThetaKappaalumniareeligibleifcurrentlyingoodstandingwiththeirnursingprogramandlefttheirPhiThetaKappa
chapteringoodstanding.• Acitizenorhavingpermanentortemporaryresidenceinthecountrywherethetwo-yearcollegeislocatedoravisa
consideredappropriatebythecollege.• Financialneed,demonstrationofcareergoals,academicrigorandcommunityservicemaybeconsideredinthe
selectionofscholarshiprecipients.• Studentswithpreviousassociate,bachelor'sormaster'sdegreesareeligible.• PhiThetaKappamembermustbeingoodstanding.• Theapplicant'sacademicrecordmustbefreefromsuspension,probationorotherdisciplinaryaction.• Theapplicant'srecordmustbeeitherfreefromanycriminalconductoriftheapplicantisaconvictedfelon,heorshemust
havecompletedallconditionsofsentencing,includingprobation. Application
• CompleteandsubmitthescholarshipapplicationonlinenolaterthanMarch2,2017,at5:00pmCT.• Materialsacceptableonlyviatheonlineapplication.Mailedorfaxedsubmissionswillnotbeconsidered.• Onlyapplicantswithcompletedapplicationswillbeconsidered.Incompleteapplicationswillbedeemedineligible.• ThisscholarshipwillreopeninOctober2017.
Judging,VerificationandNotificationScholarshiprecipientswillbedeterminedatrandombyPhiThetaKappaandprioritywillbegiventostudentswhodemonstratefinancialneed.AlleligiblestudentsidentifiedasfinalistswillberequiredtosubmitaStudentAidReportandacopyoftheirmostcurrenttranscript.InternationalStudentswillberequiredtosubmitatranscriptaswellasaformprovidedbytheScholarshipOperationsDepartmentdocumentingproofoffinancialneed.Thenursingadvisorsofallfinalistswillbecontactedtoconfirmtheapplicant’sgoodstandingatthecollegeandinthenursingprogram.Selectionofscholarswillbebyrandomdrawingfromthepoolofalleligibleapplicants.StudentsselectedasHurstReviewNCLEX®ScholarshipRecipientswillbenotifiedbyMarch31,2017.AboutHurstReview
