Hi Year 6! It’s Mrs Nijjar here, I will be sharing lots of art and craft ideas that you can do at home.
If you haven’t done so already, here are a bunch of totally awesome Mother’s day crafts for you to make at home.
Do you like to make your own cards? Today I’m sharing how to make pop-up cards. These are easy, fun, and once you get the hang of it, you just can’t stop making them.
You will need:
Paper White Glue Scissors Crayons
HOW TO MAKE POP UP CARDS
OK here we go!
Cut a piece of card or paper to the desired size.
Next, fold the card in half. Cut two parallel slits on the folded side of the paper, about one inch apart and about one inch long. I would encourage you to play around with the length of these cuts.
Next, fold the tab up and crease it.
Decorate the cards with crayons, markers, or coloured pencils. When the card is done, glue the pop-up piece in place and let it dry for about an hour.

Mother’s Day Craft Ideas
This is one of the nicest cards you can make for Mother’s day – close it shut and when the card is opened it reveals a nice 3D tulip.
What is wonderful about this one is that it’s simple to make and you can fill this book with lovely drawings. Priceless keepsake for years to come.
Have a go at a fingerprint heart tree or handprint art
Carton Flowers
Can you believe these flowers are made out of egg cartons?
Cut out the egg holder part of the egg cartons Fold flat and paint With the extra card cut out stem and paint the same colour Cut out smaller flowers for the middle or you can use pompoms or
sequins! Cut and the leaves and stems and paint green When the cut outs are dry glue onto your card or paper
Flowers in Hand
If you were in Art Club, remember we did this one last year?
Just draw around your hand Cut it out Stick on to card or paper , but do NOT stick the fingers Draw flowers and cut out Cut out stems Then glue the flowers and stems on the hand Fold over the fingers and glue the finger tips to the palm.
TIP
If you run out of paper, draw the flowers!
You could add sequins to the middle of the flowers.
Enjoy until next week!
