How can I find the cycle time of an S7-200 program?Display part number

Instructions:To identify the cycle time of a STEP 7-Micro/WIN - project in a S7-200 CPU, select the command"Information..." in the main CPU menu in STEP 7-Micro/WIN.The three cycle times are displayed in the box "Cycle rates (ms)":

l The last required cycle time ("Last:"),l The minimum cycle time ("Lowest:") andl The maximum cycle time ("Highest:")

since the last STOP-RUN transition of the CPU.

You can access this information in the user program in the special flag area. The cycle time of the last cycle is in SMW 22.The shortest cycle run since the last STOP-RUN transition is in SMW 24 andthe longest cycle run is in SMW 26.

QUESTION:How can I recognize whether the optional battery module for the S7-200 still provides sufficientvoltage?

ANSWER:There is no possibility to measure or record via a program routine whether the optional battery modulestill provides sufficient voltage. Besides, the CPU does not assign any bit with this information. If the battery module is located in the CPU, it has to be removed from there. Afterwards, connectshortly a 100 kOhm resistance between two pins of the battery - still more than 2,2 V DC have to belocatable at the resistance.

According to the used CPU-Type, the battery modules are different and it has to be mesasuredbetween different pins:

l For the CPUs of the second generation (S7-22x) the resistance (100 kOhm) has to connectedbetween the Pins 2 and 6 of the battery module in a row,

l for the CPUs of the first generation (S7-21x) the resistance (100 kOhm) has to be connectedbetween the Pins 1 and 5 of the battery module in a row.

To measure correctly between the right pins when using the battery module BC 293, turn the batterymodule around as shown in Fig. 1.

Note:The S7-200 CPU includes the special marker bit SM0.2, which is set for a cycle during the start-up ifthe remanent data went lost.By a flat curve of discharge of a Lithium-Battery, the battery status is hardly determinable. Thus, nostatement can be given about the capacity which is still available.

To avoid a data loss after the expiry of buffer time, we recommend the storage of data into internalEEPROM of the CPU - see Entry-ID 17471561.
