Dear Parish Family,
May the peace and joy of our Risen Savior dwell in your hearts today and always! Happy Easter!
I offer you a most sincere thanks for “who you are” and for “what you do” in the name of Christ and His Church; especially this parish! I witness firsthand how all of you express your faith in action. I see it in your eyes, your response to those in need, and your love for the Holy Eucharist.
Thanks for your patience during this COVID-19 pandemic. It is not easy for any of us. It has quarantined you from receiving the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Thank God Saint Mary Parish is able to bring Mass to you virtually. Let us not give up hope, one day you and I will be back in our beautiful parish church, and you will be able to receive our Lord sacramentally in Holy Communion. I am grateful, especially, for our friends, Joe Peterlin, Susan Rodzewich, and Peggy Hinson who bring the Holy Mass to you via live stream. I am also grateful to them who assist in the broadcast of my Daily Lenten Reflections. They are truly a gift to us. Thank you!
Thanks to Mark and Paulann Bellino for their gracious help in hanging the purple shrouds over the main crucifix and murals in our sanctuary during Passion-tide. God bless you both. Thanks to Peggy for decorating the sanctuary by using her time and talent! Thanks, Peggy! I am grateful to Sandi and Alan Olzinski for providing the liturgical music for our Masses/Services during Holy Week! Thank you very much! Thanks to Mary Beth O’Connor for all her work behind the scenes in making sure our parish doesn’t miss a beat. Thanks, MaryBeth! Thank you to Mary Goudsward and Kathy Wasniewski for all they do in making sure our parish stays on track and keeps focus. Thanks Mary & Kathy! Many thanks to Deacon Don who truly embodies the servant of Christ in all he does for me and for our parish. Thanks, Deacon, for your kindness and generosity of spirit. Lastly, thank you to my brother priest, Father Kean, for assisting me in the celebration of Masses and his fraternal support in our Residence.
The Solemnity of Easter teaches us that Christ has broken the chains of sin and death and has given us new life. We are no longer weighed down by affliction and chaos. Christ is the deliverer; He is the one who frees us from the darkness of death and allows us to experience the fullness of light and eternal life.
I am so glad I am a believer! I am so grateful to my parents, family and parish who introduced me to Christ. I am so grateful to all of you for making my faith come to life each day by your Amen and Alleluia; your Yes and your praise of the Risen Lord.
Happy Easter, everyone!
