CATECHISTS AND ASSISTANTS NEEDED
Two questions that we might ask ourselves are, “What difference can I make in my parish family?” or “What gifts do I have to give?” One ministry that you can become involved in is helping our children to know and love our Lord as a catechist or an aide. Our Faith Formation programs depend on the generosity of parishioners who want to share the Good News of Jesus with others and help make a difference in their lives. You do not need a degree in theology or have all the answers to help them learn about God. Catechists are first and foremost a model for young learners of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. By agreeing to be a catechist, you answer God’s call to share your faith with others, while growing in your own faith life as well. We want to invite you into this golden opportunity to become an important part of the life of our parish’s children as you step forward and say, “HERE I AM LORD. I COME TO DO YOUR WILL!” If you feel called to this ministry, we need you to fill some vacant spots in our grade school and junior high programs in the upcoming year. Please call the parish office at (360)377-7674. We would be pleased to talk with you about the possibilities! May God bless you!

JULY 30, 2017
From today’s Gospel reading The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field which a person finds and hides again and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Reflection: Jesus doesn’t call people to God by threatening them with eternal punishment. Instead, through these parables and everything he said and did, he showed us how close God is and invites us to enter more fully into the kingdom that is already present in our midst.
So we ask ourselves: - What have you "found" in life, as if by chance? - How has it changed your life?
