ORE Catapult’s high voltage laboratory is designed for high voltage capabilities as well as a low voltage power network facility. Our laboratory provides accelerated aging, type testing and fault finding services.

Electrical test laboratory

Lightning impulse, high voltage, high

current, partial discharge, corona

protection, RIV, thermal cycling,

temperature rise and power quality test

facilities.Materials test laboratory

Full spectroscopic, microscopic, and

physical testing facilities available for

materials characterisation, analysis, and

validation. Including cable water tree

analysis, moisture determination of solid

insulation and oil profiling

Environmental test laboratory

Cyclic temperatures and humidity exposure

- environmetal chamber (-40°C to +180°C

and 10% to 98% RH) with internal HV live

testing capability, high humidity/salt

corrosion assessment/studies, chemical

resistance, ingress protection (IP) and HV

wet testing.

Subsea testing environment

Test tank facilities for water immersion

for trialling of electrical equipment and

systems.

Mechanical test environment

Vibration test facility (shaker table),

mechnical lift, impact testing, static and

fatigue testing capabilities.

Rotating machines laboratory

Regenerative loading capability, variable

speed motor drives, motor loading

capability to 100kW, variable speed DC

drives, inrush current testing and dynamic

loading capability.
