How to open and Excel XLS file with Open Office as the Default Program

Hello here is how to open and XLS (97-2003 WS), with Open Office. Using these instructions Open Office will

always an XLS file.

First select Start then, Default Programs.

Next select “Associate a file type or protocol with a program”

Next find your file type (in this case XLS 97-2003 Worksheet), and select Change Program

Then Select Open Office Calc

You will see the file like this Select Close

XLS files are now associated with OpenOffice and will now always open with Open Office Calc.
