Did you know: One in six Australians has some form of
Hearing Impairment – it’s more common
than you think.
A Hearing Impairment is frequently
misunderstood.
Deafness is invisible.
You should tell others when you can't hear
them well.
If you are having trouble hearing you should
have a hearing test.
Shouting won’t help me hear you better.
There's nothing wrong with having aHearing Impairment.
Hearing aids are a great help.
You could try learning a new language –
Auslan.
You should treat your hearing with care.
This Expo is one of the many events being
organised throughout Australia as part of
Hearing Awareness Week 2010.
See you at the Hellenic Club.
Hearing Awareness Week 2010 aims to:

Raise awareness of Hearing Impairment and
chronic Ear Disorders, so that those who are
affected experience greater acceptance and
better accommodation.
Assist affected people to:

- be less likely to retreat from the world and
hide their disability or pretend it doesn't
exist.
Reach out to affected people to tell themabout the availability of goods and services
that would assist them.
Demonstrate that Hearing Impaired people
can achieve anything they want to.
Educate the general public about ways to
