Action Plan
• We decided to put up signs to remind people to close doors and turn off lights when leaving rooms. Children tick a record sheet to monitor progress.
Action Plan
• We put up signs next to energy sockets to turn off red switches when appliance plugged in is not in use.
Day of Action
For our day of action we had a low energy day in school in June. All lights and interactive whiteboards were off that day. Many children walked or cycled to school that day. It was a great success and we will have another low energy day in September.
Evaluating and Monitoring
We check the energy meter every week to record how much energy we have used.
Green School Slogan Competion
Piaras won the Energy slogan competition.
Saving Energy is what we do,
If we all work together
We can save the world too.
Energy Colouring CompetitionLily, Ben, Elena and Kate were the competition winners.
Day of action
• We had another low energy day in September. The pupils all wore green clothes. Lights and computers were not turned on to conserve energy. The energy meter readers compared a normal week to a week with a day of action to see how much we saved.

Energy Monitors
• Energy Monitors doing a spot check in classrooms to make sure lights are turned off and doors are closed.
Bin Monitors
• Bin Monitors continue work from first green flag to see if correct waste is in the bins.
Curriculum work
• Senior classes did lessons on electricity. They made energy circuits using batteries, wires and fans.
Curriculum Work
• Junior classes listened to Guzzlers story and learned about using physical energy.
Energy Green Flag
• We really enjoyed working towards our energy green flag. We have learned so much about how to save energy and what a difference it makes to our environment. We have also continued to work on the litter and waste theme by taking part in National Spring clean annually and by continuing to compost and shred paper.
