Once upon a time, there lived 12 brothers in the cave: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December. Each brother was younger than the previous for one month. When January, February and March went out of the cave, it was freezing outside. They were sledging, skiing, making snowman, throwing snowballs. After that they came to cave to warm themselves.
When they were staying in the cave and drinking hot tea with milk, April, May and June went out. The weather was warm and sunny, flowers started to blossom, grass turned green again. Three brothers were playing football, running and having a great time. When they got tired, they came back to the cave to rest.
Just after dinner three others went out: July, August and September. They wore shorts and T-shirts. The brothers were swimming in a river, making sandcastles and sunbathing.
When they were hungry, they ate fresh fruit from the garden and then came back to their cave.
October, November and December wanted to pick up chestnuts and acorns and make toys from them. The forest had colourful leaves.
Suddenly it started to rain, so the brothers came back to the cave.
All of the brothers were happy in their cave. People called them “Green Children”, because when they went out from their cave, everybody was happy and cheerful, nobody got angry and sad.
One day a brave knight appeared at the cave and saw 12 smiling faces. The brothers invited him to the cave.
The knight told them that there was no joy and happiness in his kingdom, so the king ordered him to look for the joy and happiness and to bring it to the unhappy kingdom. The Green Children decided to join the knight and make his country happy again.
When they appeared in the kingdom, everything changed. Grass turned green, flowers started to blossom, birds started to sing. All the people were happy again! From that moment the kingdom had joy and happiness forever!
