Michael Bierut is a Graphic Designer, design critic and educator. Beirut was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1957. He studied graphic design at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. Bierut’s rst job was in 1980, his job was at one of the most important design rms in the world, working for Massimo and Lella Vignelli in New York City. He worked at Vignelli associates for ten years as a vice president of design. Working at this job made Bierut a very powerful man in the design world. When Bierut left his rst job he joined the pentagram for 18 years. Bierut taught for almost 15 years in the graphic design program at the Yale School of Art, he also was a president of AIGA’s AIGA New York chapter from 1988 to 1990 and president of AIGA from 1998 to 2000; he has since been named to the Art Directors Hall of Fame and the Alliance Graphique Internationale. Bierut is the co - founder of the world’s biggest design blog, design Observer and his commen-taries about graphic design in everyday life can be heard nationally on the public radio interna-tional program “studio 360”. Bierut wrote a book called 79 Short Essays on Design, this book designed with no pictures, it contains 79 short essays, and each essay is set in a dierent typeface. Bierut also is a co- editor of the anthology series looking closer; Critical Writings on Graphic Design. Bierut has many important lectures, he talked about the “Five Secretes of Design”, he also had many interviews, he talked about typography with the Atlantic, he discussed about design’s rising status with AIGA Philly, he was in a video about the world of pentagram 2007, did a lecture about Lazy Designer’s Guide to Success, my life as a font. Bierut is also known for his involvement in the lm Helvetica — “Drink Coke, period!”
A.G is an Artist, She has interests in various aspects of arts including drawing, painting, and handcrafts. She took many workshops on using computer such as Photoshop..etc) Her favorite artists are Monet and Van Gogh. A.G had started her rst small business after graduation in making hand crafts like magnets, frames, book covers etc. Being so enthusiastic about the art design world she decided to complete her higher studies in the eld of graphic design. Despite her love of ne arts, she began to gain more and more interest in Graphic Design as a powerful tool that she can use in expressing her artistic thoughts and creative ideas. She gets her inspiration from many famous Graphic Designers such as Michael Bierut, Paula Scher, and many other scholars in that eld. She has the ambition of becoming a famous graphic designer one-day in her country and worldwide.

Type SpecimenBodoni is a series of serif typefaces first designed by Giambattista Bodoni (1740–1813) in 1798. The typeface is classified as Didone modern. Bodoni followed the ideas of John Baskerville, as found in the printing type Baskerville, that of increased stroke contrast and a more vertical, slightly condensed, upper case, but taking them to a more extreme conclusion. Bodoni’s typeface has a narrower underlying structure with flat, unbracketed serifs. The face has extreme contrast between thick and thin strokes, and an overall geometric construction. Bodoni admired the work of John Baskerville and studied in detail the designs of French type founders Pierre Simon Fournier and Firmin Didot. Although he drew inspiration from the work of these designers, no doubt Bodoni found his own style for his typefaces, which deservedly gained worldwide acceptance among printers.

length went to Rome, and there became a compositor for the press of the Propaganda. He made himself acquainted
with the Oriental languages, and thus was enabled to render essential service to the Propaganda press, by restoring and
accurately distributing the types of several Oriental alphabets which had fallen into disorder. The infante Don Ferdinand, afterwards Duke of Parma, having established, about 1760, a printing-house on the model of those in Paris, Madrid and Turin, Bodoni was placed at the head of this establishment, which he soon rendered the first of the kind in Europe. The beauty of his typography, etc., leaves nothing further to be desired; but the intrinsic value of his editions is seldom equal to their outward splendor. His Homer, however, is a truly magnificent
work; and, indeed, his Greek letters are faultless imitations of the best Greek manuscript. His editions of the Greek,
Latin, Italian and French classics are all highly prized for their typographical elegance, and some of them
are not less remarkable for their accuracy
