Bob, a 40-year resident of Jackson Hole, founded one of Jackson’s most respected and successful real estate brokerages in 1972. He received the first Lifetime Achievement Award from the Teton County Board of Realtors, of which he is a past President. Bob is a Trustee of the Grand Teton Music Festival. After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley, Karen moved to Rome, Italy. She opened an English language book shop in Piazza di Spagna which became the largest English language book shop on the continent. After living in Europe for 20 years she moved to Jackson in 1983. She opened The Travel Consultants and managed the firm from its inception to the sale of the business in 1989. She served three terms as Chair of the Community Foundation Board and serves on their Investment and Executive Committees. Matt Faupel has an engineering degree from the University of Michigan. Prior to his success in real estate, Matt spent 6 years in corporate management in the engineering field. Julie and her husband, Matt, relocated to Jackson from a suburb of Detroit, Michigan three months after they were married. Jenn brought nine years of marketing and communications experience to real estate in 2005, after graduating from St. Lawrence University and working in San Francisco and Boston. Fourteen years in the valley has offered her familiarity with, and a love for, the valley and its people. Born in the foothills of North Carolina, Mack graduated from North Carolina State University with honors and promptly moved out west. Mack became intimately connected with Jackson Hole as a river guide, photographer and working at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Introducing thousands of visitors to the unique and impressive sights and sounds of the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem came second nature to him. Being raised in the family brokerage, Mack quickly found his calling and became a third generation realtor. Mack’s crowning achievement has been being the first and only real estate agent ever to be voted the Best in Jackson Hole, 6 straight years, from 2009-Present. The overall market in the first half of 2016 experienced a decrease in the number of transactions, down about 14% compared to the first half of 2015. While the number of transactions fell, the average and median sale prices were still higher in the first half of 2016 than in the first half of 2015. The average sale price increased by about 9% and the median sale price increased about 10%. The average and median sale prices were higher than in 2015, but lower than in the first quarter of 2016. The difference may be attributed to the shift in the distribution of sales in the $500,000-$1 million price range, 39% of total sales. There were 78 transactions under $1 million. Properties also sold more quickly than in the first half of 2015. The average number of days on market decreased by 12%, and by over 18% in the single family and vacant land segments.
The inventory shortage throughout 2015 did not change much in the first half of 2016, with the number of active listings up only 1%. Without a large increase in inventory, low supply will likely continue to be a contributing factor in the balance of 2016.

The average and median sale prices decreased -5% and -1%, respectively. There were only two single family home sales under $500,000 and these homes were located north of town in Moran, Wyoming. Single family homes located in the Town of Jackson, where the majority of single family home sales took place, remained roughly the same as this time last year, however, the second highest area for single family sales, located just south of the Town of Jackson, experienced a large decrease in transactions, down about 37%.

These decreases may primarily be attributed to the high-end condominium/townhome transactions that took place in the Teton Village area last year.
