Grade 5 News Vol 6 February 2020
Mountain Christian School 1
Alas! the month of love is upon us. A time to demonstrate more than
ever, our christian DNA to friends, family and people in need of our
love. To us, February is a month of sacrifice and giving. Not only of
our gifts and treats, but of our time, words and little acts of Kindness.
This month, the Grade 5’s will be learning about God’s kind of love
and how he demonstrates it through the lives of his servants
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but more so, what it means to love thy
neigbour, and to honour our parents with love.
It is also the month of ALL THINGS SCIENCE. As we begin more
rigorously our science fair projects and complete our study and
practice of the scientific method. Please note that the Science Fair
Homework Packets have been sent home and are due every Friday
until the 3rd of March.
Finally, we will be wrapping up the month celebrating PINK T-Shirt
day on the 26th and celebrating each other’s successes as we look
unto the last stretch in our second trimester.
Please mark your calendars for the upcoming events.
Have a splendid month!

STORY’S ABOUT OUR AWESOME MUSCLES
GLUTEUS MAXIMUS
By Aleah Coutts
My teacher's favorite
muscle is the Gluteus Maximus.
I don't know why it's the
Gluteus Maximus but it is. I
thought it would be the Face or
the Cardiac but no it's Gluteus
Maximus. My favorite muscles
are the Biceps, Deltoids and
Quadriceps. Some of my
friends’ favorite muscles are
the Abdominal and the
Pectorals.
Types of Muscles in the
Human Body
By Olivia Koutstaal
In your body you have many
muscles. Some of your muscles
are your Abdominals, Biceps,
Pectorals, Deltoids, Quadriceps,
and your Gluteus Maximus. Your
Biceps is your arm muscle. Your
Abdominals are your abs.
Deltoids is your shoulder
muscle, and your Quadriceps is
your leg muscle. All of these
muscles are the main muscles in
your body.
Short Words in the World of
Neverland
By Hannah Donovan
In the world of neverland
nothing interesting happens.
People are too lazy to say words,
so they make the words short.
For example delts is for
detimore. Pecs is for pectin. Abs
is for abstract art. Quads is for
quadruplets. And last but not
least, glutes is for gluten free.
Billy, Bob, and Joe
By Julie Morrow
Once There was a man named
Joe with no glutes or pecs. He
was really sad because he got
bullied for not having them. One
day he met a man named Billy
Billy and another man named
Bob. Billy extremely sore delts
and quads and Bob had no Abs.
Billy, Bob, and Joe were on the
news for the strange conditions
soon they became famous and
nobody bullied them and they
became the happiest kids on
earth.
MUSCLES
BY Mathew Marshall
Gluteus Maximus
Are you sitting? If yes, you are
sitting on your “gluteus”. This is
that is under the skin and fat in
your behind.
Biceps
When you make a muscle in your
arm, you are tensing your biceps.
You can sometimes see it push
up under your skin.
Quadriceps
Located on the front of your
thighs, usually called “quads”.
Runners, bikers and athletes
who use their legs develop
strong and large quads.
Abdominals
Below the pec and under the rib
cage are muscles that are most
often called “abs” for short.
You feel these when you are
doing sit-ups.

Deltoids
Often called “delts”, located in
the shoulders; you use them
when you shrug your shoulders
when you don't know the answer.
Face
The face has many muscles that
are not directly attached to the
bone; attached under the skin.
It takes 17 muscles to smile, and
all 43 to frown.
bunny kicked him in Cardiac with
his Abdominal, And then the
mouse and the bunny became
enemies.
The End
The Cow
By Emma Spitz
Once upon a time there was a
cow. Usually cows aren’t
anything special but this cow
was. This cow was. This cow had
enormous abs and humongous
pecs. The cow’s delts were
always poking out of his body
and it was truly disgusting.
There was also another thing
that was remarkable about this
cow though. Whenever the cow
wanted to, it would turn itself
into a metal bar. Mean kids
would always throw really big
rocks at the cow’s glutes. The
cow would always get mad and
then turn itself into a metal bar.
The kids would always laugh and
play on the bar but when
someone pulled on the bar the
cow would get milked. The kids
would scream, and the cow would
turn into a real cow again. The
kids would try to run away but
the cow would just lay on them
and then eat them. So if you
ever see a metal bar that has a
cow head and tail, run.
Pec’s
By Lewis Goertzen
Once upon a time there
were two pecs. The pecs
neighbors were the abs. The abs
were really talkative. The pec’s
were so annoyed they decided to
move by the quads.
The quads were quiet,
and it was to peaceful. The pecs
were asking the quads questions,
but the quads ignored them.
They tried yoga to occupy
themselves. The pecs were way
to bored so they moved to the
glutes.
The pecs almost
settled in until the body sat
down. The pecs were almost
going to settle in by the glutes.
The pecs were going to try to
move by the delts. When they
tried to move to the delts they
were in surgery. The pecs
realized they had to go back.
The pecs moved back by the
abs.
THE_END
The Bunny and the
Mouse.
By Caleb Esselink
Once upon a time there was a
BIG FAT bunny that pooped out
of his very small Gluteus
Maximus, but his neighbor was a
small mouse, and he was in his
hole, and when he opened the
door to his hole he saw the
bunny pooping, so he shut the
door, and his face looked very
disgusted. That night, the bunny
and mouse had a fight about
their privacy, so the bunny
punched the mouse with his
biceps, and the mouse brought
out his Pecs, when the bunny saw
the Pecs he ran away. The next
morning, the bunny walked to his
neighbors house, and when the
mouse opened the door, the
