It is generally believed that it is a mansworld, the woman is considered weaker inall ramifications. Most African societies
believe that the womans place is in thekitchen, and that her major responsibility isto bear and nurse children. Every nationhowever, is a synthesis of homes, and thehub of every home is the woman, therefore she deserves proper and equalopportunities with the man

gender is mentioned. Gender however, also involves men. Gender should not beviewed from the perspective of sex.Gender simply refers to the roles andresponsibilities of men and women thatare created in our families, societies andcultures

GENDER contGENDER cont
The concept of gender is very vital because itreveals how womens subordination and mensdomination is socially construed with a view tochanging them
Gender issues therefore stem from the waywomen and men have been sociallyconstructed, they are commonly sharedexperiences and therefore brought by societal
cause and are recognized as undesirable andunjust. It is not about challenging familyheadship, but about equality of rights, benefitsand opportunities.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION
Against these backdrop of gender, advocacy
and sanitation, there is a nexus connecting
these three and that equal education and gender
parity which can only be achieved throughstrong advocacy and support. Gender disparity
had hitherto inhibited the recognition of the
dignity of women. When there is no good
education and awareness, all the attendantfeatures of illiteracy would manifest, including
coping with poor sanitary conditions
