Effective teaching and learning of functional skills are
based on a ‘personalised’ approach, which tailors learning
to the individual learner. Each learner should have an
individual learning plan, with targets that are based on
initial or early assessment. This plan should be regularly
reviews. It is also important to encourage a variety of rich
learning experiences, including collaborative problem
solving.
