Dear Parents, Staff News Congratulations are extended to Mr Nic Molyneux who has been selected for the South African Men’s Water Polo team that will be participating in the Olympic qualifier tournament taking place in Italy in April.
Pitcairn Waterpolo Tournament The Dave Pitcairn U14 Co-Ed Waterpolo tournament kicked off yesterday and runs through until Sunday afternoon. There are 30 teams competing in this prestigious Reddam House tournament from schools across the country - so please come along and support the Reddam House teams that are participating.
Inter House Swimming Gala The annual inter house swimming gala is taking place during the last two lessons of the day on Wednesday. Please ensure that your child brings sunblock, a suitable hat, their Reddam sports shorts and their House t-shirt for this event. Dance News Daria Mordvinova (Grade 9), Julia Radowsky (Grade 11) and Caitlin Tanner (Grade 11), have been selected to dance in the South African International Ballet Competition held at Artscape Theatre this month. This prestigious competition involves candidates from all over the world - from Korea to Cuba. The girls have been preparing through the December holiday and they will present two Classical Ballet variations and a Contemporary solo. Besides competing in the evenings the girls will participate in daily classes taught by international teachers. Daria and Caitlin are both members of the Cape Junior Ballet Company under Diane Cheeseman and Julia is a member of the Cape Academy of the Performing Arts with Debbie Turner, under the resident Ballet master, Christopher Alloways-Ramsey. The competition runs from the 22 to 27 February. We wish these talented young dancers all the very best and look forward to watching their progress.
Triathlon News Congratulations to Shanae Williams who competed in the Free State Triathlon Championships held in Bloemfontein last weekend. Shanae won her age group division and was placed 3rd overall in the women’s event. Shanae has now been selected to take part in the South African Junior Triathlon championships that take place on the12th March. We wish her the best of luck as she prepares for this competition.
Fencing News Last weekend Olivia Wray competed at the Junior National Fencing Championships that took place in Cape Town. Olivia received the gold medal in the Epee U17 category as well as the bronze medal in the U20 category. Olivia is now ranked number one nationally in her category of Fencing and will represent South Africa in the U17 Epee section at the World Championships in France in April. Well done, Olivia!
Equestrian News Congratulations to Mikaela Bos (pictured right) who competed at Noordhoek Riding
Club on Sunday. She was placed 2nd in her 1 metre Competition Class and 2nd in her A2 Class on her horse, Royal Insignia. Tamara Rueda has been selected to represent the Western Cape in the upcoming SA Presidents Cup Horse Show taking place in March. Congratulations Tamara and best wishes for your training and preparation for this competition.
