• GREEN ONIONS Green onion supply continues to be plentiful. Quebec green onions production has ramped up and supplies are easily meeting demand.

• CUCUMBERS EAST - Expect good availability for next two weeks.WEST - The cucumber market is decreasing slightly, but remaining steady.

• BROCCOLI The broccoli market continues to stay steady with steady supplies in the pipeline. Quality is fair with slight purpling, some mechanical damage andoccasional yellow cast.

• POTATOES New crop potatoes continue to be scarce as supplies are limited industry-wide; in particular, red potatoes. We will see an improving supply chain as we move into August. Ontario will start over the next couple of weeks with light supplies.

• ONIONS As more onions start to fill up the pipeline over the coming weeks, expect to see a declining market on yellow onions as we approach August. White onions will remain limited until mid-to-late August.

• LIMESExpect markets to continue to rise, especially if importers continue to have issues with replacing existing supplies. Sizing is still peaking on 175/200.

• LETTUCES ICEBERG - Triggered pricing on value-added items is still in effect, but expect normal pricing for next week. The problem of lightweight lettuce has gone away. Expect weights on lettuce at 39-44 pounds. Quebec iceberg lettuce continues with good supplies and heavy demand. The primary pack from Quebec is 24ct cello wrapped. ROMAINE / LEAF - Better availability on romaine continues with most shippers. Triggers on value-added romaine items as well as green and red leaf have been removed. Romaine hearts have better availability compared to past weeks but availability is still moderate to light. 25 pounds. Quebec green leaf, red leaf and romaine continue with good volume and heavy demand. SPRING MIX, SPINACH & BABY KALEBaby leaf supplies continue to be plentiful. ROCKET ARUGULA / WATERCRESSArugula supplies continue to be a little on the tight side. Weather has negatively affected the supply of baby red kale and it will not be available for the foreseeable future. Bunched watercress quality and availability is good. Red watercress is done until the fall.

• APPLESThe apple market is very active. Most shippers are struggling on Golden Delicious and the overall market availability is gapping.

• BRUSSELS SPROUTS Brussels sprouts market continues to stay steady as there is plenty of supply is in the pipeline.

• CELERY Steady supplies of product continue. The best availability continues on large sizing, 24 count in particular. Quebec celery continues with good supplies.

• CORNLocal corn has started with very light supplies.

• AVOCADOSThis week we expect to see the start of an overall decline in total supply entering the marketplace week over week.

• GOLD PINEAPPLES Pineapple supplies will continue be tight through mid-September. This is due to NDF and a trucker strike that had paralyzed transport to and from the Atlantic side port of Limon.

• MELONCANTALOUPES - The market is a little stronger, quality is consistent and with great brix levels.HONEYDEWS - We are seeing good demand for both small and large fruit. It has solid internal and external quality with great brix levels.

• TOMATOES EAST - East coast summer tomato programs are currently widely scattered between Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.WEST - Heat in the valley is causing somescarring, sun scald, and advancing the condition of fruit in transit causing rapid maturity in color and firmness.

• STONE FRUIT All varieties of stone fruit are currently available, but sizes are heavy on large side. Most of the smaller volume fill size fruit (70’sand 80’s) are not being harvested and growers are focusing on larger volume fill and tray pack sizes.

= Local options available

• ASPARAGUSThere is a demand-exceeds-supply situation in U.S. markets. Pricing has also continued to rise.Asparagus should become promotable again in mid- to late-August.

• CAULIFLOWER Supplies are moderate with the quality as good. Quebec continues with good supplies and Ontariohas also started.

• MANGOESCurrent sizing on is peaking on 10 count followed by 9 count and 12 count. We expect a decrease in volume on small fruit as we get closer to the end of July.

• PEARSD’Anjou pears are all that is available out of Washington and prices have firmed up. We do expect some shippers to come down with new crop.

• GRAPEFRUIT Internal and external color is nice with high brix.Supplies have improved on red grapefruit with increased volume daily, peaking on 36/40 count.
