THE PLACE!VILA REAL DE SANTO ANTÓNIO, Algarve, Portugal
Vila Real de Santo Antonio (VRSA), old town of fishermen previously called Santo
Antonio de Arenilha, currently has around 12.000 habitants. Today, it is one of the most
touristic successful towns in Portugal, with numerous esplanades that provide a relaxed
feeling. At the town, or by the sea, VRSA soaks its feet on the waters of the Guadiana
River, leans over the dunes of Monte Gordo and watches the Atlantic Ocean on Cacela
Velha’s fortress.
The beach it’s warm and nice! Vila Real de Santo António may be a quiet peaceful
town, especially in winter, but transforms itself during summer presenting itself as an
energetic, vibrant and lively town. With an economy based on tourism, restoration and
commerce, VRSA it’s a town rich in history, with good gastronomy, a pleasant night life
and with an unsurpassable life quality. We can find Faro at 63 km, which is the capital
of the Algarve region, where the International Faro Airport and the Algarve University
are located.
MOVING EXCHANGES VRSA 16/17 5
At a cultural level it is a very interesting town, having in mind the number of
monuments and cultural places of interest. The Historic Archive, the Antonio Aleixo
Cultural Center, the royal square, the folk house among others are the ones that stand
out the most.
The VRSA parish council is located at the town center, near the main places of
interest. There are restaurants, shops, cafés and the more important places near it.

areas of sport, sociality, and education and cultural will not be a deciding factor, such as

project.
