LE FUTUR SIMPLE
THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO EXPRESS AN ACTION HAPPENING IN THE FUTURE (IN FRENCH AND IN ENGLISH)
IN ENGLISH:
A. I am going to see Michelle tomorrow morning: This is call the âprogressive
futureâ. In order to do it, you use the verb TO GO + the verb+ING [2 forms]
B. I will see your wife next week: This is call the âsimple futureâ. In order to do this, you use the compound WILL + verb (at the infinitive) [2 forms].
IN FRENCH A. Je vais voir Michelle demain matin: Conjugate the verb TO GO (aller) and
add the verb at the infinitive. ALLER + INFINITIF [2 forms]. Works like in English.
B. Je verrai ta femme la semaine prochaine: VERB AT THE FUTURE (1 form).

However with QUAND (when), LORSQUE (when), DĂšs QUE (as soon as), or AUSSITĂT QUE (as soon as), the future tense is used in French if the action is expected to occur at a future time.

LES PRONOMS RELATIFS

QUI (who, that, which) Can refer to both people and things.
THE ⊠(SUBJECT) that VERB âŠ
QUI replaces the subject in the second part of the sentence. It is always followed by a VERB. Examples: The train that came yesterday is the express Le train qui est venu hier est lâexpress. The boy who was drinking the milk is Milka.
Le garcon qui buvait le lait est Milka. The Bond Academic Center, which is at the center of campus, overlooks the Ocean. Le Center Academique Bond, qui est au centre du campus, domine lâOcean.
We will have a French class that will be great.
Nous aurons une classe de Français qui sera superbe.
QUE (whom, that, which) Can refer to both people and things.
QUE replaces a Direct Object Complement and is always followed by SUBJECT + VERB. Examples: It is a class (that) I know very well Câest une classe que [subject] je connais trĂšs bien. She is the best friend that I have ever had! Câest la meilleure amie que jâ ai jamais eue! Note: Do not forget that when you are using a Direct Object Complement before a verb (like THAT: QUE) you need to agree the Past Participle with the Direct Object Complement): Thus here: Que jâai euE (lâamie = fĂ©minine). Grammar Reminder: We (subject) eat (verb) the egg (Direct object complement). The egg (DOC) that (Relative Pronoun) I (subject) ate (verb).

Verbs using âdeâ: Parler de (to speak about) â manquer de (to miss some) â avoir besoin de (to be in need of). Examples: Tu as le livre de Français. Jâai besoin du livre de Français. Câest le livre dont jâai besoin. [It is the book (that) I need). Le charpentier dont je parle est Antoine
The Carpenter whom Iâm talking about is Antoine DONT also expresses possession: Câest la voiture de cette dame. Sa voiture est au garage BMW. [It is this ladyâs car. Her car is in the BMW garage] Câest la dame dont la voiture (subject) est (verb) au garage BMW. [It is the lady whose car is in the BMW garage] Alain est professeur. Ses chats sont gentils.
