Activity #1

The Intention

Target Competency

At the end of this activity, you should have communicated clear learning goals that are appropriate for learners.

Specific Tasks

1. Visit a School2. Get a copy of the school’s vision, mission, and the goals3. Analyze the vision, mission, and goals of the school relative to the existing school curriculum.

Copy below the vision, mission, and goals of your cooperating school.

Mission

The school is committed to develop the fullest potentials of every learner through

quality basic education aiming him to become functionally, literate, socially and morally

responsible productive and rationalistic Filipino yet receptive and contributory to

positive global influences. Who is valued and respected nurtured and enhanced by

competent, committed, modernized teachers and school administrator insuring

instructional competence and management excellence.

Vision

South II Central School produces educated students who have fully developed their

potentials in a child-centered and value teaching-learning environment that is peaceful

and ecologically safe, achieved excellence in academic culture and sports which enabled

them to create their own destiny as responsible citizens and enlightened leaders who

love God, our country and proud to be Filipino.

The School has no Goal

Based on the school’s mission and vision, what are the intended Learning goals for the Learners?

Based on the school’s mission and vision the intended learning goals of the school for

the learner is to become more committed to what they are doing and to become

responsible so that there would be a good leader in the future.

The Intention

Target Competency

At the end of this activity, you are expected to develop and use variety of appropriate assessment strategies to monitor and evaluate learning outcomes.

Specific Tasks

1. Conduct classroom observation.2. Write down the learning objectives for the day.3. Determine if the evaluation items given by the resource teacher are congruent with the set

of objectives.

Request from your resource teacher the Learning objectives and assessment strategies used for the day. Write them below.

Subject Matter: English

Learning Objectives: Enable the students identify the different elements of a story

Assessment Strategies: Use visual aids in the discussion and let the students participate in the

class

Request three (3) Learning objectives from your resource teacher. Develop and use variety of

appropriate assessment strategies congruent with the said Learning objectives

The Intention

Target Competency

At the end of this activity, you should be able to describe a healthy psychological climate for learners.

Specific Tasks

1. Choose a particular subject area and grade/year level in a school to be visited.2. Conduct classroom observation.

Describe the learning environment in the class you observed.

It was a grade six students. As we look at the physical condition of the class it was well

ventilated, the furniture are arrange well and we can say that it was conducive for

learning as well as teaching process.

Interview your resource teacher, how she/he created healthy psychological climate for learners before, during, and after the class.

According to the teacher she prepared the classroom by knowing first that every child

has different characteristic and what the subject is all about before making any

appropriate design that will help for the teaching and learning process.

Target Competencies

At the end of this activity, you are expected to look the teacher’s actions that demonstrate value of learning.

Specific Tasks

1. Examine resource/instructional materials in relation to the existing curriculum of the school.

2. Reflect on how resource materials support the implementation of the curriculum.

After a thorough examination of textbook, workbooks, and other supplementary materials used in the class, select teaching methods, learning activities, and instructional materials appropriate to the learners and align them to the objectives of the lesson. Use the matrix below to document your finding.

How are these resources related to the existing curriculum of the school?

This is the traditional way of learning in the school were books are only use. But it helps the students in learning. it is related to the schools curriculum for it is a way which helps the students learn.

If you were the teacher, are other resources that you think are necessary to maximize learning? Enumerate them.

Nowadays we are already prone to technology so as teachers we must let the students get knowledge from the internet, because the ideas in the internet very concrete and it are very easy to get from there. As well as using power point presentations.

Enumerate the teacher’s actions, statements, and different types of social interaction with the students that exemplify value of learning.

The teacher is discussing well with and the interaction between the students is in the learning environment. The students also give their feedback on what the teacher talks about. In a brief explanation the teaching-learning process is present in the classroom.

Interview your resource teacher and list down the assessment strategies she/he used to evaluate learning outcomes of the learners.

At the end of this Activity, you are expected to demonstrate mastery of the subject matter.

Specific Tasks

1. Conduct Classroom Observation2. Interview the resource teacher how he/she masters the subject matter.

Ask your resource teacher about the necessary activities and preparations to master the subject matter.

1. Pre- reading activities that will make the students understand what they are reading

2. Oral recitation which enhances students capability to express their thoughts

3. Familiarization of the topic

Request one learning objective from your teacher and list down your preparations to master the subject matter.

1. Research on what the topic is all about
