Coating MaterialSINMAST

• SINMAST joining compound is used for bonding cement lined piping components.

• Sinmast is a 2 component , solvent free product based on Epoxy Resins

• Component A – Resin (0.945kg)• Component B – Hardener (Ethylamine , Isopropylideendifenol) (0.055kg )

Coating MaterialMixing

• Both component A & B mixed together• To avoid wastage it can be divided into 10 parts and use it as required.

• The pot life of mixed component is 25min @ 20o C approx. ( Working Time )

• The hardening time is 8hrs @ 20o C approx.

Surface Preparation

• The mating steel surface shall be free from oil, rust, burs and other foreign material.

Prepared By          V.Johnson Prabu

Page 10: Field Joint of Cement lined Pipe

Application

• Apply the mixed coating material gentily on the sleeve side at an angle of 45o approx.

• Remove the excess material.• The join the mating surface and apply slight pressure. ( usually after joining you can find 3mm difference )

Page 13: Field Joint of Cement lined Pipe

Joint Fit‐up

• Only tack weld the joint at three locations• Remember : Joint shall be weld after 12 hrs

Prepared By          V.Johnson Prabu

Page 14: Field Joint of Cement lined Pipe

Welding

• Do not move the joint after fit up.• Support the line adequately to restrict the movement.

• After 12 hrs (ie; hardening time of coating material ) the joint is ready for welding.
