NEW YEAR GREETING New Staff
I am excited to share my first calendar with all of you this month. February is going to exciting and busy. We will be spending one week celebrating Mardi Gras, and another week will be spent hosting our very own Winter Olympics. Also there is Valentine's day to look forward to. Come out and join the fun and festivities. You could be named "Most Festive" or "Gold Medalist". You don't want to miss out!
My name is Diana Skiles, and I am the new
Act ivity Director. We are all very sad to
see Heather leave but we wish her and her
family all the best in this new chapter of
their lives. I'm a Carolina Girl learning
how to be a Georgia Peach. I moved to
Georgia 20 months ago. I have a B.A. in
Public Health, I worked as a caregiver for
nearly 4 years, and I enjoy learning new
things such as working on my car and
refurbishing furniture. I am so very happy
to be here at the Villas,
and I look forward to
gett ing to know
everyone.

Guess who the resident of the
month is?
This resident has been w it h us for 5
m ont hs and is very sweet and k ind.
She grew up in East St . Louis, IL and as
t eenager joined her High School's Dr i l l
Team ; t hey were St at e Cham pions 2
years in a row. Af t er h igh school, she
worked for Ralst on Pur ina Com pany as
a secret ary. She soon realized t hat was
not t he job for her and proceeded t o
t ake t he Civil Service Test . Upon
passing she joined t he Air Force
Auxil iary and worked in Civi l Air Pat rol.
Her work earned her a posit ion inside
t he Pent agon for 3 years and a 30 year
career w it h t he Depar t m ent of
Defense. She was also one of t he
founding m em bers of t he Georgia
Breast Cancer Coalit ion (GABCC) and
served on t he board for 20 years. Her
work w it h t he GABCC earned several
t r ips t o t he Whit e House, including
having lunch w it h Vice President Biden
and his fam ily. Not only is t h is resident
a hard worker , but she's also sm ar t .
She graduat ed Sum a Cum Laude f rom
St . Leo College by at t ending night
school while work ing.
