What is the relevance of a company website in today's marketing strategies?
Now that internet devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops that are rapidly supplanting the
desktops, they play a significant part in businesses, marketing tactics and events. The quantity of
people using the internet to make online purchases is growing day-by-day.
Today, businesses own websites, but owning a website is like owning a good leaflet, the fact that
you own one does not mean everybody has seen it.
You must now distribute your leaflet/website so buyers can take note of your product or services.
There is very little that cannot be sold over the internet. More than 20 million customers are now
online, purchasing everything from books to computers to cars to clothes, you name it.
Furthermore, I quote The Internet has drastically altered the way in which information is shared,
and has had a profound impact on marketing. Over the past few years, there has been more of a
shift toward inbound techniques, while many outbound tactics have become antiquated. More
businesses are finding success publishing original content rather than embedding advertisements
within external content, because of the additional benefits these tactics offer, such as
branding and audience growth.
The internet has a far broader reach than any other practice of marketing. While it takes time to
build up enough traffic to your website to make a worthwhile impact on your company's marketing
campaign. Your website will be the core of your company's online presence; through it, you market
your business around the internet.
If you are not on page one of Google, you will not create traffic. Inbound marketing, with your
carefully designed website as the core of the project is the answer today; buying clicks will not
make you famous.

Website Marketing
A marketing website can do more than entice new customers. It can be used to keep standing
consumers up to date with special offers, product promotions and news about your industry. You can
develop customer service by providing information and contact details online. Any products or
services you sell should be available on the website. An effective website has the following criteria:
Call to actions - get your website visitors to take action and interact with the site. Whether it is
adding a product to their shopping list, downloading free guides or requesting for additional
information.
Free guides to entice - inform and impress visitors as well as capturing their detail with a download
form to add them to your leads lists.
External links For People to find you, you need to require as many inbound links from external
sources as you can get. Your associates should link to you especially if you sell their products.
Interesting and relevant Blog writing and posting will increase traffic to your website will increase
traffic to your website.
Information is the key - Your website should serve many purposes. Contact information, new
information and cross selling opportunities are only a few of them. Make sure that you talk about your
website. Having a lot of content about each service or product increases the amount of keywords that
Google can work through and rank for.

Demand generation is focussing a targeted marketing program to drive awareness and interest inyour company. When it comes to demand generation there are various tools available. You must begin with identifyingwhat keywords you want to target your market with and those keywords must be of relevance to thepeople who know what they want to buy. There are then the ones who dont know what they want to buyand you should account for them too and know how you can assist them. For example should a personbe faces with the simple challenge of cooling down the temperature in their car there are a number ofsolutions in the market place that they may consider. They can install an aircon, they can get theirwindows tinted or they can install a sunroof. If you are for instance, the company thatspecialises in installing sunroofs yourkeywords should address all three abovementioned options. Any general informationfound relating to cooling down thetemperature in a car you can include inyour keyword strategy and content. Youcan identify what pages you need to includeon your website through this strategy andidentify what pay per click words you shouldbuy. This is where you can look to creatingcontent full of relevance to your targetedaudience. Once you have the blogs downpat you have credible material to begin withyour social media endeavours. The biggestmistake people make nowadays is that theyshare other peoples links and this sendsthem to other websites and in turn you lose that potential customer. Think like a publisher, not a marketer- David Meerman Scott.
Conversion marketing is an eCommerce phrase used to describe the converting of websitevisitors into paying customers. The conversion stage is the next step in your strategy and one step closer to the money. Once you haveattracted these people to your website you need to ensure your website has ways and methods ofconverging them from anonymous visitors to potential customers. So make an effort to get to know yourvisitors, know their names and gather their email addresses. This is a very important stage that manypeople forget about. People are often too concerned with the traffic on their websites and dont make aneffort to convert those traffic makers into money makers. Downloadable content is a great way togenerate a conversion, as the downloadable content will be based on the keyword strategy you createdright in the beginning. It will be relevant and researched if done correctly and this should effectivelybegin a communicative relationship with your potential buyer. Its much easier to double your businessby doubling your conversion rate than by doubling your traffic. - Jeff Eisenberg.
Know who likes your product and appreciates your company and then nurture them. Most importantly you must be tracking where your visitors are coming from. Which type of visitors are turninginto leads or customers and which are a waste of time. The beauty of online marketing is that everythingcan be tracked and reported on. You need to regularly analyse the statistics you have available andconstantly tweak your online marketing strategy accordingly. A powerful global conversation has begun.Through the Internet, people are discovering and inventing new ways to share relevant knowledge withblinding speed. As a direct result, markets are getting smarter - and getting smarter faster than mostcompanies. - Levine, Locke, Searls and Weinberger in The Cluetrain Manifesto.
