Signature Structures are a range of specially selected Tensile

Fabric Canopies that have proved popular year on year these

striking and economical products have been chosen by you, our

customers. Renowned for their organic shapes, excellent shade

qualities and long life expectancy, the canopies in this range are

delivered and installed hassle-free to your chosen location.

Signature Structures encompass both function and form,

bringing a new dynamic to any environment.

Tensile Fabric Structures explained

A tensile form, as its name suggests, is under tension

throughout its entire shape. This provides many benefits over

traditional shelters, including:

Long lasting canopies with a life-expectancy of 15-20

years minimum

Permanent cover - canopies are fully engineered for UK

conditions

Shelter & shade protection using UV resistant and

waterproof fabric

Organic form compliments out door & landscaped areas

Durable finishes are ideal for busy or hi gh-traffic areas

Strength and safety by fabricating w ith architectural

grade materials

Environmentally sensitive uses less materials & fabric

is recyclable

Easily maintained with low replacement costs

Canopies should be cleaned every 6 to 12 months and full

operations and maintenance manuals are provided after

installation. Fabric Architecture offer specific maintenance

packages, available on request.

Basic Tensile Forms

There are three basic forms of a tensile structure, all of which

incorporate double curvature this creates the strength, organic

shape and durability:

Galvanised

Polyester Powder Coated PPC to most RAL colours

(industrial paint colour reference)

Fixtures & Fitt ings

Fixtures, fitti ngs and smaller parts are manufactured in Marine

Grade 316 Stainless Steel, plus some models may include

anodised aluminium extrusion.

Fabric Canopies

Canopies are fabricated using two types of architectural

grade fabrics:

PVC coated polyester available in a range of colours.

This fabric is colour-fast wi th a life expectancy of 15 yearsand is a total UV-blocking material.

Environmentally-friendly Solar Glass Weave is available in a

variety of colours, with a life expectancy of 30 years.

This fabric blocks harmful UV-B and UV-C rays.

Fabrics have excellent resistance to mould, pollution and day-

to-day grime build up. All fabrics are fire retardant to BS567 or

BS476 part 7 class 1, and part 6 class 0 - this means they do

not support combustion or produce flaming droplets.

Typical planning and installation process

From the point you place your order to the day your Signature Structure is installed, you will have the support and advice

from a dedicated Projects Team. The average lead-in period is 8 - 10 weeks during which time we will help you prepare for

the arrival of your new canopy.

A guide to preparing for your Signature Structure:

Week 1 Upon selection of your Signature Structure, your technical sales person will hand-over your installation to a

Fabric Architecture Project Manager

Fabric Architecture Project M anager will contact you to book your installation date, advise foundations

details and discuss colour preferences for steel and fabric. Fabric samples can be sent if required.

Week 2-3 Project Manager wi ll contact you t o confirm colour selection and provide a general arrangement drawing

used to source foundations.

Fabrication of your structure commences

Obtain quotes from local ground worker and book dates to install your foundations (there must be at least3 weeks cure time prior t o structure installation)

Week 4 Set-out, excavation and pouring of foundations t o Fabric Architectures specifications by your

chosen contractor

Fabric Architecture courtesy call to ensure foundations are completed

Week 5-8 Project Manager will contact you to confirm site details - dates, access deliveries, special concerns etc.

Week 8-10 Fabric Architecture on-site t o complete installat ion (regularly between 1 and 4 days depending on

size of structure)

Week 11 Chosen contractor returns to site to make good the surface

Week 12 Fabric Architecture sends completion certifi cate wit h Operations & Maintenance manual

Modif ications & Accessories

Modifi cations to leg heights are available on request, plus

fixings for lighting, heating and electrical systems can be

provided on request. Padded leg-wrap kits are available for

most Signature Structures, for added protection. Many

designs are modular and can be joined together to cover

larger areas read on for more details!

Visualisation and Photomontage

We offer visualisation and photomontage services for you

to be able to see how the proposed structure will look in

your environment. We can accurately plot shade where this

is an essential requirement of t he specification.
