6) What have you learnt about
technologies from the process
of constructing the product?
I learnt that I needed a variety of technology to help create the content for the magazine
such as a laptop, macbook air and an SLR camera.
I used the SLR camera for my photography for all of the photographs that are featured
in my magazine. Such as the following examples;
I learnt from using the camera how to focus clearer onto the model and how to use
flash which helps them look brighter and to help with eliminating any shadows that
appear in the background. However, the flash didn’t always work out in some of the
pictures this is because of the distance between the model and the camera was
maybe too far.
I obtained my fonts from a website called dafont.com which is a website that contains
a variety of different fonts. I used this website because I found most of the fonts that
were required for my magazine. The fonts I obtained from the website were similar to
the fonts used in an actual pop magazine so by using similar fonts to a real pop
magazine, it would make my pop magazine look more professional and realistic
since I can say that they both have similar font styles being used.

I also used google images to obtain some
images from there so that I can borrow it for
my magazine. I added pictures that were
going to be used as posters that would be
part of the content in the magazine. It would
be used on the front cover so that it entices
the audience to buy the magazine.
During my post-production, I used different softwares to help with the constructing of
my magazine such as:
• Photoshop Elements 12
• Publisher
I chose to use publisher to help with the construction of my magazine because I
found it easier to control and add what I wanted to put on it. It was also very easy to
edit and move objects around the page so I didn’t find it difficult if I wanted to move
something or change it.
I also chose to use photoshop elements to be part of the construction of my
magazine since editing on photoshop made it high quality when I had to save it as a
JPEG file. It was also used to enhance the quality of the image overall with its
different elements such as a ‘sharpen’ tool which sharpens the quality of the image
so that it’s not as blurry as before.
For my research and planning, I used the following applications:
Prezi – To show the different parts of analysis on the magazine with connotations for
each part.
Blogspot – I uploaded the images of my analysis work directly onto blogspot.
Slideshare – To present the analysis from of my target audience survey results.
For my drafting, I used the following applications:
Slideshare – To present my step by step constructions for the front cover, contents
page and double page spread.
Blogspot – I uploaded my photography onto blogspot directly.
For my evaluation, I used the following applications to showcase my work:
Soundcloud – I recorded my answer for evaluation question 1.
Prezi – I used prezi to answer and present evaluation question 2 as a type of
slideshow.
Blogspot – I directly posted my answer to evaluation question 3 onto blogspot with
images.
Powtoon – I created an slideshow for evaluation question 4.
Windows movie maker (uploaded onto dailymotion) – I typed up my evaluation for
question 5 and put it together on movie maker so that it’s just a trailer with my answer.
Slideshare – I created a powerpoint then uploaded onto slideshare for evaluation
question 6.
iMovieMaker (Uploaded onto Youtube) – I recorded myself answering to evaluation
question 7.
