The Ph.D. program is designed for students from different background such as graduates, researchers, managers, administra�ve heads, decision makers, and technical staff working in relevant areas.
The graduates will be able to guide their community in order to promote sustainable development.
The Ph.D. program’s courses are delivered by instructors from different colleges across the University of Bahrain, and in collabora�on with comprehensive range of governmental and non-government organiza�ons. The teaching methods include lectures, projects, field visits, self-studies and case studies.
1. Prepara�on of highly qualified policy decision makers, and managers of environmental projects involved in assessments, design and implementa¬�on of environmental policies.
2. Acquire advanced scien�fic training enabling students to iden�fy and analyze the problems of sustain-ability, provide answers, and design and implement innova�ve solu�ons based on the development of mul�disciplinary research.
TEACHING METHODS
The Ph.D. program in Environment and Sustainable Development equips students with diverse knowledge and perspec�ves to answer important concerns about environmental problems facing inhabitants of planet Earth. The program provides students with the necessary tools and techniques to achieve deep understanding of fundamental principles of environmental science and sustainability which can be applied to research and address experimental challenged.
We believe that such issues need to be tackled in an interdisciplinary fashion, inves�ga�ng the science, engineering and policy ques�ons that ma�er by using appropriate tools and techniques from many research domains and excellent research facili�es.
Our extensive research community at the University of Bahrain, is ready to deliver ac�on-oriented, policy-focused responses that address environmental and social issues. We work closely with businesses and policy makers with these aims in mind.
