Political and
economic systemEgypt has been an authoritarian government for many years but it recently
became a republic so now people get to elect their representatives.
Because of lack of justice in the authoritarian government there were a
lot of rebels on the Egyptian streets complaining about the government so
they decided to become a republic.
Now the Egyptian government has a mixed economy based on napoleonic
civil law and Islamic religious law.

Government
structure
Even though Egypt is divided
into 27 “governorates” it is
considered a unitary republic
because the central
government controls all
political activities in the 27
governorates. Menu
Economic
activities
Since ancient times Egypt´s major economic activity has been
farming and it still is that´s why this country preforms primary
and maybe secondary economic activities. Egypt may be considered
a developing country because of it´s newly established democratic
government.

Biomes
95% of Egypt´s land is occupied by the Sahara desert, the rest
of the land is composed by urban areas such as the city of
Cairo. There are other biomes in Egypt that occupy a minority
of the country, for example swamps that are near the Nile
river.

Urbanization and
rural areas
As you can see in the picture in the
background most of the cities in Egypt
are located near the Nile river which
leaves Egypt with rural areas in places
away from the river. Many of Egypt´s
cities have been there for a while and
few new cities have developed which
tells us that Egypt is not in an
urbanization process.Menu
Animal and
plant life
Animals
have been
a big influence
in Egyptian culture
since ancient times, they
even believed that some of
them were gods.
Egypt is home of many kids of
