WHAT IS COPYRIGHT?
HOW DOES COPYRIGHT EFFECT ELEARNING?
ORPHAN WORKS"Orphan Works" are
copyrighted works—books, music, records, films, etc—whose owner cannot be located. Works can become "orphaned" for a number of reasons: the owner did not register the work, the owner sold rights in the work and did not register the transfer, or the owner died and his heirs cannot be found.” ("Orphan works," 2011)

FAIR USE
The four fair use factors: What is the character of
the use? What is the nature of the
work to be used? How much of the work
will you use? What effect would this
use have on the market for the original or for permissions if the use were widespread?
