Composite films of carbon nanotubes with polypyrrole (PPy), polyaniline (Pani) and

poly[o-phenylenediamine] (PoPD) were prepared via electrochemical co-deposition from

solutions containing poly(m-aminobenzenesulfonic acid) functionalized single-walled

carbon nanotubes and the corresponding monomer.

The synthetic, morphological and electrochemical properties of PPy/SWNT-PABS,

Pani/SWNT-PABS and PoPD/SWNT-PABS nanocomposites films were compared.

Characterization was performed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS),

cyclic voltammetry (CV) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques.

The as-prepared nanocomposite electrodes also showed excellent electrocatalytic

activities towards hydrogen peroxide. The catalytic activities toward H2O2 may be further

exploited for construction of oxidase-based biosensors with a good reproducibility and

high stability, as well as minimized interference.
