RESEARCH PAPER
Thesis: Many women and some men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, but it can be treated and often cured with early detection.
• 232,340 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer this year.
• 54,640 women will be diagnosed with non-invasive breast cancer.
• 40,000 women will die from breast cancer this year.
• 2,240 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer this year.
• 410 men will die from breast cancer this year
• Because of screenings and early detection, the death rates from breast cancer have been declining over the past 25 years.
• 2.8 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.

TOGETHER THE PROGRAMS
• Seen 7,500 women in the last seven years.
• Current average of 1,800-1,900 women seen annually.
• 36 women have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
• Ladies Night Out- Mission Program; BCHD does the paper work and scheduling.
• BCCCP- Buncombe County Health Department program.
• Ladies Night Out- Mammograms.
• BCCCP- Physicals.
• Refers patients to each other
PRODUCT HOURS
• October 5th from 8:00-12:00
Volunteered at a 5k where all the proceeds went to the Ladies Night Out Program.
• October 12th from 11:30-4:00
Volunteered at a Bike ride at Harley Davison where all proceeds went to the Ladies Night Out Program.
• November 7th from 3:30-5:30
Volunteered at the Ladies Night Out Program at Asheville Radiology.
• December 5th from 3:30-5:30
Volunteered at the Ladies Night Out Program at Asheville Radiology.

• Switched projects after a 6 weeks.
• I have a hard time talking in front of people.
• Writing papers is not my strong spot.
CONCLUSION
• I will continue to volunteer for the Ladies Night Out Program
• A lot of women couldn’t do it if it
wasn’t for them.
• Early Detection is slowing down
the number of women dying from
Breast Cancer!

Mammograms, they save lives!!!!!
