Setting Up Your Computer for DESince we use Backboard, your
computer needs to be set up properly to connect and use our system
The most important items are:Disable ALL block stoppers – including
those in the tool bars i.e., Yahoo, MSN, AOL toolbars
Lower or disable firewall security software If you are on a network at home, your
router has firewall….you do NOT need the firewall software on your computer at all
Enable Java – Blackboard is Java driven
Tech SupportEven though you can ask your colleagues
for help as well as me, you do have 24-hours Tech Support available.Remember that tech support is only for
technical issuesAnything to do with contents, assignments or
grades are not handled by Technical Support…those you go to your faculty
The course in a nutshellIn this course you will learn what is Word
and how to present with this program.Course Description
Designed to improve document processing skills using Microsoft Word. Topics cover preparing documents, formatting and managing documents, and enhancing documents. Prepares students with the skills required to pass the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification exam. This course may also be offered online. May be taken for grades or on a pass-no pass basis. ADVISORY: Computer Information Systems A090 or keyboarding speed of at least 30 wpm. Transfer Credit: CSU.
