Maine East Teacher Earns Golden Apple Award

Maine East science teacher Judy Tyler was one of 10 Illinois teachers to earn the highly

respected Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. The Golden Apple Awards for

Excellence in Teaching recognize and honor outstanding teachers for their role in building a

stronger, better-educated society.

Construction Update

The district is working diligently to gather

input as part of the design process with

relation to the major renovation projects that

will likely take place beginning next spring at

all three school sites. The latest update was

provided to the Board of Education.

Three seniors were recently honored by the

Maine Township High School District 207

Board of Education as “207’s Best” as

leaders and innovators in technology.

Jessica Brito from Maine West, Violet

Kamienski from Maine South and Mansoor

Syed from Maine East were all recognized

for their efforts.

MCYAF to Host Town Hall Meetingon Legalization of Marijuana

The Maine Community Youth Assistance

Foundation will host a Town Hall meeting at

6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17 on the

legalization of marijuana. The event will take

place at Maine South High School.
