shoes by Mario D’ Boro, coat Php3,499, pants Php1,299 both from Penshoppe
Akihiro Sato is a beach boy through and through. Fresh from his week-long trip in Bali, this Brazilian-
Japanese model, ultimate survivor in the first Survivor Celebrity Edition and endorser of
Mario D’ Boro came to the Discounts Magazine shoot tanned and looking like he was ready
to hit the sand
He came in the room casually dressed in !ip !ops, shorts and a simple shirt but his presence cannot be denied. He is one of the Philippines’ most sought-after models and endorser owing to his good looks and charm. Currently, he’s Mario d’ Boro’s
celebrity endorser and a very good one at that. “He really loves the brand and wears it whenever he can,” says one of Mario D’ Boro’s sta" present at the shoot
last February 9 at the MINT College in McKinley Hill.

shoes by Mario D’ Boro
“Usually I wear white shorts together with leather shoes at night [at the beach]. It’s more maporma,
you know?,” says Akihiro in English with few hints of Tagalog while checking out the shoes brought in by Mario D’ Boro. Immediately he set his eyes on a
couple of pairs and tried them on for himself and said those shoes are exactly what he wears on the beach.
Aki, as he is called, is a native of Camburi, an Oceanside beach in Brazil. Growing up in the beach side with huge waves, he started sur!ng at the age of nine and grew to love the sport. He enjoys eating grilled seafood and playing futevôlei or footvolley, a sport which originated in Brazil which is a mix
of beach volleyball and football. Since coming to the Philippines in 2008, he has gone to the very few sur!ng spots in the country. He’s been
to Zambales, La Union, and Aurora and dreams of one day going to Siargao to ride the waves. He also
has gone to Boracay a couple of times but says though they’re beautiful too, they’re too commercialized. "is beach boy who has always lived among the
waves and for a long while, the runway, will now be appearing in your boob tubes every night as well as he
is currently working on a project with GMA-7 for TV series, Captain Barbell, where he will play the role
of the Black Barbell.

SHOPMAN RAYMOND GUTIERREZ KNOWS HIS STYLE
How would you describe your wardrobe? My wardrobe consists of both local and international labels. I like collaborating with different Filipino designers for the clothes that I need for my hosting duties on TV. I also invest in shoes and accessories that I know I could use a number of times.
What kind of shopper are you?I’m not an impulsive shopper although I used to be. Now I’m more careful with what I buy and I really think about it. I actually don’t shop so much in Manila. I do most of my shopping when I travel to the Sates, Hong Kong, or Europe.!
How and where do you !nd good deals when you shop for clothes? There are seasonal sales in the States that give amazing discounts on everything. Thanksgiving being the biggest. Although I’m not a big fan of the big crowd and the mad rush it draws.
Favorite shopping spots?Locally, I usually go to Zara, Topman and Rustan’s for last minute things I need. I love shopping in Hong Kong as well--IFC Mall, Joyce, and Paci"c Place. In the States, I like going to Barney’s New York for a one-stop shop. In Paris, I love the store Colette.!
Favorite brands?I’m a fan of Lanvin, Balenciaga, and Bottega Veneta for their craftsmanship and attention to detail. I love Rimowa luggage for travelling. For basics, I love American Apparel.
Shopping tip for your fans?Don’t buy it just because it’s a trend at the moment. Know what looks good on you and always put quality "rst.!
What are the wardrobe must haves for guys?A well-"tted suit can transform the way you look and feel. A signature scent let’s everyone know you’ve arrived.!

Natural makeup and the appearance of a healthy glow are always best for summer. Eye shadows in lighter, neutral shades, bronze powder, cream lipstick and pastels are fit for a lighter, more summery appearance. Never forget to protect your skin from damage always wear a sunscreen lotion while stepping out in the sun. Any sunscreen lotion with a SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 30 or more is quite effective in shielding the body from the UV rays. Avoid being in the sun when it is at its strongest, between 10 am to 2 pm. By making some adjustment to your timing, you can minimize exposure and protect your skin from damage. Did you know that the color of your dress is also important in shielding you against the harmful rays of the sun? Dark colors attract more sunlight as compared to white or light-colors. Light colors allow our skin to breathe easier and cool us. Dark colors absorb and trap heat making us hotter than we have to be.
DollFace is the leading brand of makeup palettes in the Philippine online shopping scene. Headquartered in Cebu City, they cater to orders nationwide. The brainchild of young entrepreneur Pearl Sarcauga, they have been in the business for 3 years now. They aim to be recognized as a highly regarded professional makeup brand in the Philippines.
