1 Introduction
During October 2006, Avalon Ventures Ltd ("Avalon") completed a diamond drilling program consisting of six (6) boreholes totalling 978 metres to test the gold potential of two (2) mineralized corridors located in the central part of the U6-Savant gold property.
The U6-Savant gold property is located in Conant Township, Ontario, approximately 210 kilometres northwest of Thunder Bay (figure 1). The U6-Savant gold property is comprised of 2 claims covering 1280 acres and title is registered to Teck Cominco Limited (figure 2). On January 25, 2005, Avalon signed an option agreement with Teck Cominco to earn a 100% undivided interest in the property by incurring $500,000 in expenditures on the property over four (4) years, including a firm commitment to fund a minimum $50,000 work program in the first year and a $150,000 work program in the second year. To date, Avalon has spent over $200,000 (including the cost of the 2006 drill program) sufficient to maintain the option in good standing. Teck Cominco retains certain back-in rights and would retain a 2% NSR royalty in the property if the back-in rights were not exercised.
Chibougamau Diamond Drilling was contracted to perform the drill program and Michel Dumoulin, P.Geo., of Eveleigh Geological Consulting was the qualified person in the field to supervise the drill program and log the core.
This report contains the results of the 2006 drill program as well as recommendations for further exploration work on the property. It is intended for the sole use of Avalon. This report was not prepared as an independent technical report as defined under Canadian Securities Administrators National Instrument 43-101 and therefore may not comply with Form 43-101Fl.

2 Location, access and previous work
The U6-Savant gold property is located in Conant Township, approximately 210 kilometres to the northwest of Thunder Bay, and thirteen (13) kilometres to the north of the town of Savant Lake (figure 1). Access to the property is via a network of lumber roads on the east side of highway 599.
In 1970, Noranda Exploration Company Limited completed an airborne geophysical survey and identified a strong EM anomaly on the property which could not be located by follow-up ground electromagnetic and vertical loop surveys. In 1975, a total of eight (8) boreholes were drilled to test for CopperZinc ("Cu-Zn") massive sulphides mineralization. The drilling identified a broad zone containing up to 15% disseminated and stringer of pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite, accompanied by strong sericitization, chloritization and silicification. Due to the original focus on Cu and Zn mineralization, the core was not initially assayed for gold.
J-Ph. Desrochers Avalon Ventures Ltd Geological Report on the U6-Savant property, NW Ontario Page 4
In 1984, Teck Corporation re-sampled some ofthe core to assay for gold and identified widespread anomalous gold values associated with the disseminated sulphides. Highlights include values of 0.65 g/t Au over 36.0 metres (including 1.2m @ 6.8g/t Au), 0.43 g/t Au over 52.4m and 0.5 g/t Au over 32.2m (including 0.52m @ 10.2 g/t Au). During the same year, Teck also collected several grab samples and channel samples in ten (10) trenches. In trench T6-7, two grab samples taken from an eight (8) centimetres semi-massive chalcopyrite-pyrite vein returned 26.7 g/t Au and 6.2 g/t Au respectively.
During the summer 2005, Avalon's President, Donald S. Bubar, P. Geo. and consulting geologist Tim Maunula, P.Geo. of Wardrop Engineering conducted preliminary reconnaissance work and were successful at relocating two (2) of the more significant showings on the property. Selected grab samples returned assay results of 1.54 g/t Au and 1.1 g/t Au.
In September 2005, the author collected a total of nineteen (19) channel samples in two (2) different sectors to evaluate both the gold grades and the continuity of gold mineralization. The channel samples collected near trench T6-7 assayed 0.9 m @ 2.72 g/t Au, 1.0 m @ 3.15 g/t Au, and 1.0 m @ 1.0 g/t Au.
3 Geological Setting
3.1 Property Geology
The U6-Savant property is located within the Savant Lake Greenstone Belt of the Archean-age Wabigoon subprovince of the Superior Structural province. This greenstone belt comprises tholeiitic mafic flows as well as calc-alkalic intermediate to felsic tuff, lapilli tuff, and flows interbedded with wacke and conglomerate (Blackburn et aI., 1991). The Savant Lake greenstone belt is surrounded by the Lewis-Robinson-Lake of Bays batholith complex to the west and the Sowden-Wabakimi Lakes batholith complex to the east. The property is underlain by calc-alkalic subaqueous felsic to intermediate volcanic flows and tuff units of the Handy Lake Group, dated at 2745 +- 2 Ma (Davis and Trowell, 1982) (figure 3).
In the central part of the property, the major rock units consist of massive felsic volcanic flows, coarse fragmental units, and bedded fine to coarse ash tuff. A series of metre- to kilometre-scale feldspar-quartz porphyry dikes intrude the volcanic sequence. The dikes contain five (5) to fifteen (15) percent of two (2) to ten (10) centimetre subhedral to euhedral plagioclase phenocrysts and one (1) to two (2) percent grey quartz phenocrysts.
The volcanic rocks of the Savant Lake area have been deformed by two (2) major phases offolding (Sandborn-Barrie, 1989). The axial traces ofDI folds generally trend east-west but they are refolded by northeast-trending and plunging D2 folds. On the U6 property, the contacts between the volcanic units vary from N060 degrees to N335 degrees and their distribution suggests a
J-Ph. Desrochers Avalon Ventures Ltd Geological Report on the U6-Savant property. NW Ontario Page 5
complex folding pattern resulting from the superposition of the two (2) phases of deformation. On the property, this superposition probably also generated a mushroom type interference pattern as seen at the belt scale (figure 3).
The volcanic rock units are altered into an assemblage dominated by moderate quartz and sericite. In the vicinity of known gold occurrences, the rocks are altered into a potassic mineral assemblage characterized by k-spar and biotite. In such cases, the biotite alteration forms haloes of five (5) to ten (10) centimetres around the pyrite veinlets.
3.1.1 Mineralization
The dominant style of mineralization identified to date on the U6 - Savant property consists of thin sub-vertical, NE-trending, gold-bearing quartz-pyritechalcopyrite-pyrrhotite veinlets and veins. This veining is associated with proximal biotite-chlorite-kspar alteration surrounded by more distal sericitequartz alteration. The veinlets vary between one (1) and five (5) millimetres in thickness, and the veins are up to ten (10) centimetres thick, such as the semimassive sulphide vein that returned 26.7 g/t Au on trench T6-7 of sector 1. The veinlets and the veins are generally oriented N060 degrees to N070 degrees and dip between seventy-five (75) and ninety (90) degrees to the south. They vary from slightly oblique (10 degrees clockwise) to parallel to the S2 foliation and boudins of veinlets are frequently observed. This indicates that the veins were deformed subsequent to their emplacement and that their geometry could be complex.
The veins and the veinlets are distributed within at least three (3) eastnortheast trending corridors that correspond to anomalous gold soil anomalies (figure 4). The gold-bearing north corridor returned anomalous gold mineralization over significant widths (36 m @ 0.65 g/t Au in borehole U6-7, including 1.2 m @ 6.9 g/t Au; Hughes and Penno, 1985). It also contains higher grade gold mineralization such as 10.4 m @ 0.73 g/t Au in the upper part of the borehole U6-11.

The association ofk-spar and biotite with the best known gold grades together with a broader silica-sericite halo, and the sulphide mineralogy and veining style is very suggestive of an intrusion-related gold system. In such systems, the veins are generally emplaced in sets of fractures around the periphery of synvolcanic plutons. The veins contain an assemblage including pyrite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite, molybdenite, and magnetite. A moderately developed alteration halo consisting of chlorite, sericite, pyrite, silica, carbonate, biotite, epidote, k-spar, and ankerite extends up to several metres into the host rock and stronger alteration occurs as narrow vein selvages.

4 Diamond Drill Program The diamond drill program was conducted between October 17 and October 24,2006 by Chibougamau Diamond Drilling. A total of978 metres in six (6) boreholes (NQ calibre) were completed (Table 1). All the boreholes are drilled due south (N180 degrees) with inclinations varying between -48 and -57 degrees. The drill holes were spotted in the field using a handheld GPS with a precision of five (5) metres or better. All collar locations are recorded in UTM coordinates (NAD83, zone 15). Only the down-hole inclination was measured with acid tests collected generally every sixty (60) metres and with an acid test taken at bottom of holes.
Michel Dumoulin, P.Geo., of Eveleigh Geological Consulting directly supervised the drill program and was responsible for logging the core and for the selection of the samples. Initial logging was completed in the field but more detailed drill hole descriptions were completed at Eveleigh Geological Consulting core logging facility in Thunder Bay. The core samples collected for assaying were selected by Michel Dumoulin and correspond to intervals that had visible sulphide mineralization. Drill cores are split in the middle and half of it is sampled for assaying. The sample length varies between 0.5 and 1.0 metre. Standards and blanks were inserted at a frequency of one (1) standard or blank for every fifteen (15) samples. The samples were submitted to Accurassay Laboratories in Thunder Bay. All the casings were left in the boreholes except for borehole SL06-02. The core is cross-piled and stored behind the Eveleigh Geological Consulting core logging facility in Thunder Bay.

4.1 Drill hole descriptions
Borehole SL06-01 (135 metres)
This borehole was designed to test the central and southern part of the north gold-bearing corridor (figure 4). The borehole collared into 3.65 metres of overburden and then intersected a felsic fragmental flow unit to 78.65 metres. This was followed by a polymictic felsic lapilli tuff unit to the bottom of the hole at 135 metres. Quartz-feldspar porphyry dikes are present between 3.65 metres and 9.65 metres and between 47.65 metres and 57.2 metres. A biotiterich mafic dike is also present from 79.65 to 81.95 metres.
The targeted north gold-bearing corridor was anticipated to be intersected from the collar to approximately 45 metres down the hole, assuming a steep northerly dip of the corridor. The only indication of such a corridor is the presence ofa biotite-enriched zone between 9.65 and 16.3 metres down the hole.
Two intervals of gold mineralization are present in this borehole and are associated with a porphyry dyke and a mafic dyke respectively. The first interval corresponds to a zone of biotite and pyrite enrichment located immediately below a quartz-porphyry dyke at 9.65 metres down the hole. This interval returned 1.92 g/t Au over 3.1 metres, including 4.66 g/t Au over 0.7 metre. The second interval coincides with a biotite-rich mafic dike located at the contact between the two (2) major volcanic rock units present in the borehole at 80.81 metres. This zone contains less than 5% of combined disseminated and stringers of pyrite and pyrrhotite. It also contains minor folded quartz-sulphides veins. The stringers are oriented parallel to the foliation and boudins of stIingers are common. The best assay result was obtained from an interval containing a fo lded quartz vein oriented at low angle to the core axis and containing 3% pyrite and pyrrhotite at 80.81 metres. This interval assayed 4.63 g/t Au over 1.89 metres, including 10.67 g/t Au over 0.65 metre (Table 1).

Borehole SL06-02 (171 metres)
This borehole tested the northern contact of the north gold-bearing corridor down to a vertical depth of about 110 meters.
The borehole collared into 9.05 metres of boulders. It then intersected intermediate porphyritic flow units cross-cut by a series of variably mineralized shear zones and moderately silicified zones. A thirteen (13) metre wide shear zone containing black chlorite or biotite, tourmaline, carbonates, and trace to 3% of combined pyrite and pyrrhotite is also present at 134.6 metres down the hole. This shear zone represents the down-dip extension of the north gold-bearing corridor as interpreted from surface exposures. Unfortunately this shear zone failed to return any significant gold assays.
Two other intervals did produce interesting gold assays. The first interesting result was obtained from a 1.6 metre fault zone at 12.9 metres down the hole. This fault zone returned 1.2 g/t Au over a 0.6 metre interval. The second interesting result was obtained from a shear zone at 166.41 metres down the hole that returned 1.48 g/t Au over a 1.29 metre interval. This second intercept corresponds to the down-dip extension of the north gold-bearing corridor.

Borehole SL06-03 (183 metres)
Borehole SL06-3 was designed to test the down-dip extension of gold mineralization previously intersected on trench T6-T7 and to test the south gold-bearing corridor (figure 4).
The hole collared in a porphyritic felsic flow unit to 86.2 metres and then intersected a felsic lapilli tuff to 122.95 metres. This was followed by a porphyritic intermediate flow to the bottom of the hole at 183 metres. Two biotite-rich mafic dykes, similar to the dyke intersected at 79.65 metres in borehole SL06-01, were intersected at 54.7 metres and 122.95 metres respectively. Finally an 18.5 metre quartz-feldspar porphyry dyke was intersected at 154.5 metres down the hole. This porphyry dyke is locally fractured and brecciated.
The south gold-bearing corridor, as interpreted from surface exposure, is not readily identified in this borehole. A zone of quartz veining oriented at different angles with respect to the core axis may represent the down dip extension of this corridor.
A few anomalous gold intercepts are obtained from the tectonically brecciated porphyry dyke at 154.5 metres. Assay results such as 833 ppb Au over 0.6 metre and 641 ppb Au over 0.6 metre were obtained from this zone.
Borehole SL06-04 (171 metres)
This borehole was designed to go across the entire width of the north goldbearing corridor. It represents the easternmost borehole drilled during this drill program (figure 4).
The borehole intersected an intermediate massive volcanic flow cross-cut by numerous feldspar porphyry and quartz-feldspar porphyry dykes. Several of the dykes are moderately to strongly altered and their porphyritic texture is frequently partly destroyed. The contacts of the dykes are frequently sheared and mineralized with pyrite and pyrrhotite over a few centimetres.
The targeted north gold-bearing corridor may correspond to a 17 metre wide zone of quartz and carbonate veining containing traces of pyrite and pyrrhotite transposed into the foliation at 85.0 metres down the hole. Unfortunately, this zone did not return significant gold values.
The best assay results were obtained in a zone containing over sixty-five (65) percent of variably fractured, brecciated, and biotitized porphyry dykes at 147 metres down the hole. This zone contains trace to 2% pyrite and minor pyrrhotite. An interval from this zone assayed 3.7 g/t Au over a 3.3 metre interval, including one sample that returned 9.6 g/t over 0.6 metre.
J-Ph. Desrochers Avalon Ventures Ltd Geological Report on the U6-Savant property, NW Ontario Page 12
Borehole SL06-05 (198 metres)
This borehole was the westernmost hole completed during this drill program. It targeted the south end of the north gold-bearing corridor and the western extension of the south gold-bearing corridor (figure 4).
The borehole intersected an interlayered sequence of intermediate and felsic volcanic flows to 71.4 metres. This was followed by a large porphyritic unit to 136.95 metres. This porphyritic unit is less foliated than the surrounding rocks and could potentially be a large porphyry dyke. The porphyry unit was followed by an intermediate volcanic flow to 172.4 metres and then followed by a series offeldspar porphyry units (dykes?) bounded by sericitic shear zones containing 1-3% of disseminated pyrite and pyrrhotite.
There are no obvious features to support the presence of the north gold-bearing corridor in this borehole. The sericitic shear zones, together with the porphyry dykes at 172.4 metres down the hole may coincide with the south gold-bearing corridor. In this case, it would indicate either that the zone is further to the south than previously interpreted, or that it dips steeply to the south rather than to the north. Unfortunately, the two shear zones did not return any significant gold assays.
The gold values obtained with this borehole are very low despite the presence of abundant porphyry dykes and well-developed shear zones, which control the location of the gold mineralization further to the east. This may indicate that better gold mineralization is present further to the east and potentially to the east of the area drilled to date.
Borehole SL06-06 (120 metres)
This borehole was added to the original planned drill program to intersect the south gold-bearing corridor and to provide a second test of the encouraging gold intersection encountered in borehole SL06-0 1.
This borehole collared into a moderately to strongly foliated intermediate volcanic flow unit containing variable amounts of biotite streaks along the foliation planes to 54.0 metres. This was followed by a felsic lapilli tuff containing scattered biotite-rich intervals with trace to 1 % disseminated pyrite and pyrrhotite to 113.45 metres. The hole ended at 120 metres in an intermediate quartz-feldspar porphyritic rock unit, which likely corresponds to a porphyry dyke.
The targeted south gold-bearing corridor was intersected from 89.05 to 107.6 metres down the hole. This zone is characterized by very siliceous rock unit containing 1-2% of black biotite flakes and trace to 1% combined pyrite and chalcopyrite at 89.05 metres. No significant gold assays were obtained from this zone.
The best gold grades were obtained from a slightly more biotitic alteration zone intersected between 42.8 and 54.0 metres. This zone also contains trace to 3% of combined pyrite and chalcopyrite stringers. The best assays are 2.9 g/t Au over 1.3 metres at 42.8 metres down the hole and 1.44 g/t Au over 0.9 metre at 53.1 metres down the hole.

5 Interpretation and Conclusions
The 2006 diamond drilling program on the U6-Savant property confirmed the presence ofa prospective geological environment for gold on the property, and the high grade gold assay values obtained with this program, including 10.67 g/t Au over 0.49 metres and 9.6 g/t Au over 0.6 metre, suggest it may have the potential to host an economic gold deposit.
However, the 2006 drilling program did not confirm that the previously mapped gold-bearing corridors represent consistently-mineralized gold zones. As observed in the drill core, the corridors do not possess consistent macroscopic features and the gold mineralization, is present in different host rock units. These include folded sulphides-bearing quartz veins, transposed pyrite-pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite veinlets, disseminated pyrite and pyrrhotite, and biotite-rich intervals. This observation would not support an interpretation of continuity of the gold mineralization between drill holes without further evidence.
The best gold values obtained with this diamond drill program are located between the two interpreted gold-bearing corridors, thus suggesting that other geological features may control the location of the best quality gold mineralization on the property. The best gold intercepts are obtained in boreholes SL06-01 with an assay of 4.63 g/t Au over 1.89 metres, including 10.67 g/t Au over 0.49 metre and in borehole SL06-04 with an assay of 3.7 g/t Au over 3.3 metres, including 9.6 g/t Au over 0.6 metre and 3.09 g/t Au over 0.6 metre. Those two boreholes represent the two north-easternmost boreholes drilled during this program and may indicate that better quality gold mineralization occurs further to the east-northeast.
The high grade gold intercepts in both boreholes are associated with biotiterich mafic dykes and tectonically brecciated porphyry dykes. This association does support a previous interpretation suggesting that the gold mineralization is spatially and genetically associated with one (1) or multiple intrusions (Desrochers, 2006). In such intrusion-related gold mineralized systems, the gold-bearing sulphides veins are generally emplaced in sets of fractures located around the periphery of syn-volcanic plutons and associated dykes. The large folded porphyry bodies present on the U6-Savant property may represent such syn-volcanic intrusions.
The two (2) boreholes designed to test the western (SL06-05) and the eastern (SL06-04) extensions of the gold mineralization contain a high percentage of porphyry dykes. In those boreholes, the percentage of such dykes is much higher than in the boreholes drilled in the central part of the area of interest. The porphyry dykes are locally brecciated (tectonically) and they are bounded by small shear zones. Despite their similar characteristics, the two (2) boreholes do not have similar gold contents and only borehole SL06-04 returned significant gold assay values. This suggests a zoned system with better quality gold mineralization occuring toward the northeast. Further mapping, sampling and drilling is warranted to test this area.
J-Ph. Desrochers Avalon Ventures Ltd Geological Report on the U6-Savant property, NW Ontario Page 14
6 Recommendations The results of the prospecting, channel sampling, and diamond drilling programs completed to date on the U6-Savant gold property indicate that this property has the potential to host significant gold mineralization. A follow-up exploration program is recommended to test the north-eastern extension of the gold mineralization identified by drilling and to better understand the structural controls on the gold mineralization. This program includes surface mapping, mechanical trenching, and diamond drilling.
The mapping should be initiated in the area of the 2006 drill program but should be extended further to the northeast. The trenching should be directed at creating rock exposures to the northeast of borehole SL06-04. The trenches will have a long axis oriented to the north-northwest but they should be wide enough (minimum 12 metres) to maximize rock exposure with the objective of understanding the controls of the gold mineralization in this complex folded terrain. Finally the drilling program should target the northeast extension of the gold mineralization intersected with boreholes SL06-01 and SL06-04. The details of the program are as follows:
Surface mapping:
Geologist 16 days @ $500 / day $ 8000
Mechanical Trenching, Mapping, and Channel Sampling: Mechanical Trenching (80 hours @ $150/hour, incl mob)$12 000 Mapping 12 days @ $500/ day $ 6000 Sampling - Technician 12 days @ $250/ day $ 3000
Sample Assays:
125 samples @ $20/ sample $ 2500
Travel and Lodging: $ 3500
Diamond Drilling:
1000 metres of diamond drilling in 4-6 boreholes to test the northeast extension of the gold mineralization.
1000 m @ $150/ m (all included) $150000
Contingency $15,000
Total estimated cost for this work program is: $200,000.

Felsic meta Volcanic Flows (Graywacke???). Weakly to moderately schlstOlle at 45' ca., light grey-beige-greenllh becoming fairly greenish down the hole felsic flows, with UkeIy a very discrete .nd blurred poIphyritlc texture but otherwise, with a YIIIY silicic and aphanitic groundm ... and • dacitic-rhyolitlc composition. The greenish color is given by a weak to moderate sericitization. It also contain •• weak pervasive carbonatatlon .1 well as 1·2% scalleRld and irregular Ihaped stringers of calcite. Some smaH intervais contain significant minenllizatlon but otherwise, only Isolated grains of disseminated pyrite can be seen erratlcaly. However, an Intersection of black BIOTITE SCHIST is in place at the upper contact between 9.85 and 10.4Om with 0.5% pyrite. Upper contact at 80" ca.
47.85 57.20 (h) QUARTZ..fELDSPAR PORPHYRY PF
Feklspar.Quratz Pophyry. Medium grey, massive to weakly schistOlle at 45' ca., fine grained 1·2mm groundm ... with dominant felsic minerals mainly fatdspal'll at 80% and quartz 30-35% and some dark chloritlc minerals to complete. Groundmesl is talcOlle and highly sericllized likely S8uaaurltized es wen, and conteins 10% feldspar phenocrysts 2·Smm up to 8mm for the big white ones, and 2-3% 3-4mm blue eyes of quartz phenocrysts also. Some part of the unit has an enrichment in quartz ftooding. particularly ~ 54.S-55.Sm, and it contains an Interval of felsic flows between 5O.8-52.7m. Occasional grains of disseminated pyrite occur but not in significant numbers. A weak pervasive carilonatation is also present. Upper contact at 50' ca.
