Greetings Members and Friends! Welcome to our March 2015 Newsletter. During the month of
February, members attended the Black Tie Morgan Waterfront Estates
unveiling, African American Leadership Awards, Ford-Employees
African Ancestry Network’s Black History Program, and inFORUM
Michigan’s “Meet Inspiring Role Models” panelist discussion. Our
2014 End of the Year Report was submitted to National Headquarters
before deadline. We refreshed our website and have begun to update
our membership roster with current information. The Detroit Chapter
Leadership Team continues to plan and implement our 2015
Program Activities.
Mark your calendars, our 31st Annual Scholarship and Awards Dinner will be held
Thursday, August 13, 2015 in Dearborn, Michigan. This is the premier fundraising event for
our chapter. Tickets are now on sale. Feel free to take advantage of the early bird discount.
In March, our members will attend a Veteran Job Fair, sponsored by the company, “A
Purposed Transition”, celebrate Michigan Chronicles’ 2015 Women of Excellence at MGM
Grand, and participate in a March for Justice, “From SELMA TO DETROIT”. We are a
“Forward Thinking, Forward Moving” chapter and look forward to your continued
support.

The LOT Case Competition will be held June 26-28, 2015 on the Campus of Rice University at the John H. Jones School of Business in Houston, Texas. The Detroit Chapter will have a youth team in attendance and competing. Prizes range up to $25,000.

2015 Scholarship Opportunities
National Black MBA Association
Detroit Chapter
Each year, NBMBAA Detroit Chapter awards scholarships to high school,
undergraduate, and graduate students continuing their education or
graduate study in business. These scholarships recognize and support
students who show evidence of leadership and scholarship potential in
the field of business. The National Black MBA Association Detroit Chapter
Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to outstanding
individuals for the purpose of continuing their studies and professional
development in business.
Qualification Requirements
Must be a minority student.
Must carry a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Must complete application and a 500 word essay.
Must be a resident in the State of Michigan or Toledo, Ohio.
High School Students: Accepted into an accredited four year
College or University with the intent of pursuing a Bachelors
degree in Business.
Undergraduate Students: Enrolled in an accredited four year
College or University and pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business.
Graduate Students: Enrolled in an accredited Graduate School
Completed applications must
