A Brief Introduction
Sree Sankara, Muvatupuzha conducted the M G University Taekwondo Championship 2018-19. St. Paul’s
College, Kalamassery Football (M) team also participated in this tournament
Team St. Paul’s College, Kalamassery succeded to reach the quarter final round of this tournament but
unfortunately couldn’t make in the match against Maharajas College, Ernakulam
The impact of the Programme:
MG University Intercollegiate Competitions are being conducted with much importance to benefit the young
players to excel in their performance and the best performers will be given opportunity to participate in
bigger sporting arena like South Zone Inter-University & All India Inter University. Sports positively affect
college aged student athletes on an emotional level in regard to their level of confidence. Players will display
higher levels of self-confidence the athlete also learns to work hard, put in the time, pay attention to
small details, and be a positive part of a team, he is also learning these skills to one day be applied to
his or her future career. Sports very strongly affect the collegiate student athlete’s social well-being.
Positively, sports influenced relations among peers, authority, and family when those in the
athlete’s sphere of influence held a healthy involvement in the athlete’s life

Kerala College Premier League T 20 Tournament

A Brief Introduction
The KCPL Trophy is a state level limited-overs cricket competition involving all College teams from the zone
of Trichur Palaghat Calicut & Ernakulam. It was conducted by Sports Exotica in association with Kerala
Cricket Association & Asianet News. Cricket Team of St. Paul’s College Kalamassery participated in this
tournament and won the Runners=Up Position in the zonal round. St. Paul’s College, Kalamassery team also
got selection to the State level tournament based on performance our college has made in Zonal Round.
The impact of the Programme:
Kerala College Premier League T 20 Tournament was introduced on 2018-1 for the first time to find the best
college cricket teams in Kerala State. Best players of all colleges in the state in this age group will participate
in sports competition to show their talents and positive influence in many areas. It supports players both
financially & to gain positive mental health and improves social skills along with promoting physical health.
Participating in sports develops healthy living habits that provide physical benefits such as developing
coordination, physical fitness, and strength. Inter collegiate competitions encourages higher standards of

achievement, encourages better physical activity, builds good personal discipline & leadership, teaches how
to lose well/deal with disappointment & builds teamwork.

M G UNIVERSITY TAEKWONDO SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

A Brief Introduction
The MG University Taekwondo Championship is a University level Taekwondo tournament for Senior players.
It is held annually. The Players who get achievement in this tournament will be selected to participate in the
Inter-University level Taekwondo Championship held in the current year. It was organised by the Department
of Physical Education MES College Marampilly
Two players named Paulson M D of 1st Year BSc Chemistry & Joel Justine of 1st Year B.Com of St. Paul’s
College, Kalamassery team got Gold Medal & selection to participate in the inter-University Taekwondo
Championship representing M G University based on performance our college has made in M G University
intercollegiate Championships.
Ashna Sheen of 1st Year BSc Mathematics of St Paul’s College, Kalamassery got Silver Medal in the Women
section of this tournament.
The impact of the Programme:
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art, characterized by its emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping spinning
kicks, and fast kicking techniques. Taekwondo always requires wearing an dobok. It is a combative sport and
was developed during the 1940s and 1950s by Korean martial artists with experience in martial arts .The
governing body for Taekwondo is the State is Taekwondo Association of Kerala (TAKE). The advantages
players get from this Competition are Reaction Force, Concentration, Equilibrium, Breath Control & Speed.
