New Features
The new features included in this release are:
Citrix Receiver Updates 13.1.3
Support for VMWare Horizon View Client 3.2
Support for RDP 8.1
Security Updates
Citrix Receiver Updates
Citrix Receiver for Linux is a software client that allows you to access your desktops, applications and data easily and securely from many types of Linux devices. When you are working with a Citrix-enabled IT infrastructure, Citrix Receiver gives you the mobility, convenience, and freedom you need to get your work done.
Citrix Receiver for Linux ICA 13.1 is integrated as a part of this release. It supports all features supported by Citrix Receiver for Linux 13.1.2. In addition, it supports the features mentioned in feature description.
Features
The new Linux Citrix Receiver includes the following features:
HDX Broadcast session reliability - If the connection to an application is interrupted, HDX Broadcast auto-client reconnection (an existing feature) ensures that the Receiver detects the disconnection and reconnects users to the affected sessions automatically. With HDX Broadcast session reliability, users now see all of their data, key presses, and other interactions that they make with the application during the downtime.
Smart card authentication support for StoreFront – Citrix Receiver for Linux smart card authentication supports StoreFront with the following configurations and products:
Dell Wyse Ubuntu Linux MR5 Release Notes Page 6 of 15
a) Smart card readers that are compatible with PCSC-Lite.
b) Smart cards with PKCS#11 drivers for the appropriate Linux platform.
SHA2 - SHA-2 encryption for enhanced security.
New INI Parameter
A New ini parameter- smartcardtype is introduced from this release. This parameter is used to create a smart card login connection to storefront server. Creating a connection with smart card login support to storefront server using ini.
The parameters given below have to be added to create a connection through ini:
Connect=ICA \
Application=win7 \
StoreName=Store \
StoreFront=Yes \
BrowserIP=192.168.1.2 \
Description=smartcard_test \
Username=administrator \
DomainName=abc.local \
SmartCard=yes \
smartcardtype=GEMALTODOTNET \
HTTPBrowsing=ssl
To enable smart card login, set the parameter SmartCard=yes and parameter smartcardtype to the type of smart card.
If you are using Gemalto.NET set the smartcardtype parameter to GEMALTODOTNET or if it is CAC card set it to CAC.
Note: Only two smart cards are supported as of now, Gemalto.Net and CAC Smart Cards.
Limitations
1) Citrix Receiver for Linux supports multiple card readers; however only one smart card
can be used at a time.
2) The host name of the Linux Thin Client should be 20 characters or less for
connections to work. This setting can be examined and set by using the hostname
command. Any user can examine the hostname, but to set the hostname, you need to
be the root user or have administrator privileges
3) Citrix Receiver for Linux does not support log in with a smart card that contains
multiple authentication certificates.
4) To switch between smart card based authentication and user name - password based
authentication, the user has to restart the Thin Client.
5) Smartcard login for Storefront server via browser is not supported.
6) Smart card support for Published applications is not supported.

VMWare Horizon View Client 3.2 Updates
VMware View client 3.2 is integrated as part of this MR release, which has Support for hosted applications. This version also supports the existing features of View client 3.1.
The new View client has the following features:
New UI and New Horizon Icon
Application switch and Protocol Switch
Support for hosted applications - With this release of Horizon Client for Linux, you can securely access remote Windows-based applications and remote desktops running in a VMware Horizon 6.0 or 6.0.1 environment. After launching Horizon Client and logging in to a Horizon 6.0 or later View server, you see all the remote applications that you are entitled to use, in addition to remote desktops. Selecting an application opens a window for that application on your local Linux system. A remote application looks and behaves as if it were locally installed.
Favorite remote desktops and applications - You can select remote desktops and applications as favorites in Horizon Client. Favorites are identified by a star. The star helps you quickly find your favorite desktops and applications. Your favorite selections are saved, even after you log off from the View server.
Idle session timeout enhancements - For security purposes, administrators can set timeouts that log end users off of a server after a certain number of hours (the default is 10 hours) and that lock remote applications after a certain number of minutes of inactivity (the default is 15 minutes of inactivity).
New INI for selecting which monitors to use for Horizon Client - If you specify that you want to use all monitors, and if you are using the PCoIP display protocol, you can specify a subset of adjacent monitors to use.
Persistent settings in location-based printing - Printer settings for location-based printers are retained after a user logs out or disconnects from the desktop. After the user logs in to the desktop again, the location-based printer continues to use the previously configured settings. The remote desktop must have View Agent 6.0.2 installed.

Limitations:
Virtual Printer is not supported on PCoIP due to unavailability of ARM binary.
Smart card is not supported on desktops and applications hosted on RDS for both PCoIP and RDP.
Webcam is not supported on VMWare RDP.
When NLA is enabled, it is mandatory to provide a password. This is applicable to both connection manager and ini.
Note: VMWare and Microsoft suggest doing Safe Ejection of USB massive storage device. Please check the below link for more information: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/safely-remove-devices-from-your-computer

RDP 8.1 Updates
The RDP features given below are supported in this release:
TSG3 redirection support in 2012R2
Socket Time Out command line parameter
Connection time improvement
MS Virtual Channel API support
Note: Single touch feature is not supported as part of this release and MS Virtual Channel API support is an internal feature.
TSG3
Server redirection to Windows Server 2012R2 through TSG3 is being supported from RDP version 8.1.02.
Socket Time Out
The receive timeout is now a tunable parameter. Depending on the network QOS may introduce session freezing under load or in some cases of disconnection, up to the current default timeout of 2 minutes. This parameter can reduce the delay.
The parameter is: [--socket-recv-timeout=<integer seconds>]
Security and Firefox Browser Updates
Security fixes and Firefox browser update includes the list of packages that are updated based on security updates published by Ubuntu as part of T50 security updates to fix some known critical vulnerabilities.
